Recently, some things going on in this forum have been brought to our attention and we are making strides to take care of these issues today.

The biggest issue is abuse of this forum by users who simply see this as a place to advertise their online business and everything that they sell. This forum was originally set up for forum users who have an item available that they want to sell. I don't have any problem with users who contribute to this forum, in the form or conversation, to advertise any pool related items that they have for sale or trade.

I do have a problem with folks who have an online business and just use the forum to advertise that business for free.

We have removed a number of these posts and this should be considered the warning for those posters to stop what they are doing.

There is one exception to this however. One user (Cuedaddy) was not only using this area to promote his online shop. He was also taking images from the AzB marketplace to populate his online shop. Including posting items that were exclusives to the AzB marketplace and saying he could deliver these items.

When contacted by our marketplace partner about these issues, his simple response was "sue me".

Not only is this behavior detestable, but I would certainly have concerns about buying from someone like this.

This user has been banned from the forum for life. No warning was given and no warning should be needed for something like this.

It would be nice if we had a bunch of these guys pay for a membership at the least and better yet a banner ad, one sale could easily pay for a banner ad and would bring them much more business also. AZ Billiards is the biggest and best pool site in the world, the secret is getting out there.

Good job Mike!!!!

Happy Holidays to you and your family :)

I have always felt that someone that keeps selling stuff and never posting except to sell something should support the site by advertising on it.

Would this apply to those cuedealers here on az who have there own websites and put up a item just so they can show a link to there site specifically to promote there business? And how about these same dealers who just put up a link to ebay when the item is not even for sale on az?
Thanks

Kind of like a nail looking at the hammer saying, "So what you going to do about it!"!

This is a good question for Mike. Several AZ'ers that have a business are super supportive of AZ and super positive with their input in several matters. Does that rule apply to them as well?

Great question. I always wondered how long it would take before someone said something about people just posting links to their own website where they have cues for sale. If I was in the cue business like some people on here, I would not think twice about spending a little more time and listing my cues instead of just posting a link to my own site. :groucho:

I agree also. If someone is too lazy to post pics of their cue in their for sale thread, then I lose any interest in buying from them. If they are just unable to post pics thats different, but obviously if they have a web site, laziness is the only reason.

Where does one draw the line ? "Online business" ? Exactly what does that constitute ? Several parties here sell many cues and have websites. Does this policy apply to them? The lack of standards of practice for sales here is a joke. Which is why I will probably never purchase a cue from anyone here again. And there are definitely folks out there who could use my money.

I dont mind at all seeing people sell stuff on here from their websites and businesses, but its those who never answer questions, or support the community are the ones who need the boot. I have learned a TON from people on here, and I LOVE this site. There are quite a few guys on here who sell a lot of stuff, but if I have a question, they never hesitate to answer it, and are alwayys happy to help. That is the way it should be, not just some dude with a web site or an ebay account throwing up a link and bumping it every 20 minutes, and never helping dumbasses like me out, lol.

Happy holidaz!!

GOOD 4 U Mike!!! Happy HOILDAZ to you and your family, and THANKS for another year of AZ Billiards!!!

Well Joe, I am glad I give back.. lol

Seriously.. now you have to define cue dealers because there are guys who say they aren't dealers that sell more cues than I do, and I admit I am a dealer. I won't mention any names but they are the same people that go to Hopkins and stick cues in other peoples booths because they are too cheap to get a booth and to cheap to get a website.

So what do you do? Maybe there should be a cap on the number of cues you can list here? How about bumping? Rules, timetable? I mean it's up to Mike but there should definately be some sort of written guidelines, because you can't trust people to do the right thing.

So why don't you just make a place for the people who have a online store to only post in the area and change them a small fee to advertise on az?
Or just have them put up product for sale to help surport a charity...

Im sure you give back, with over 5000 posts, I doubt those are all sales bumps! lol! Guys like you are not the target here, Im sure of that. Those who are here only for themselves and offer nothing to the community know who they are. As far as doing the right thing, no matter what you try to do, people will find a loophole. I like the fact that there are a lot of smart people on here that can steer uneducated people in the right direction. I like that there are cuemakers on here like KJcues who will help anyone out. Its a great mix we have here, and Im happy as hell I found this place. I hope we can preserve what we have here, because this site has become part of pool itself.

I see most of these guys contributing to other forums and conversations.
They have an extensive knowledge of collectables and highend cues and often help others to identify cues.
Its nice to see what is available in the high end area, and they're not selling chalk and other doo dads.
Having high end cues for sale does add to the Sale section. And they don't pound the Sale section relentlessly. Just my opinion tho.

But for the others, it was needed as all AZ is/was to them is an extension
of their own market place.

Good job Mike.

If you are running for office, you have my vote. :)

My two cents: Simply have a Forum strickly for dealers that DO have a storefront. I personally do not mind the dealers here. I've bought many cues/products on AZ.
I enjoy the window shopping here too. However, I'm am NOT making excuses for someone's rudeness.
Also, there are a lot of dealers here who contribute with their vast knowledge of the products they sell. We NEED them here!
What I would like to see disappear from this forum is the bashing and namecalling that has been happening here all too frequently! As a truck driver I get all plenty of rudeness on the road...I hate when I find it here too!
