Thoughts on the Table I just finished building

This is my first post to this forum, but I have been lurking for a while and has been a great help on this project.

I started building this table on Dec 3 and finished it December 24th.

It is an 8 Footer with 3 piece 1" slate. I found a local supplier that gave me a great deal on Level Best/CL Bailey Slate - good, bad, or otherwise.

Cloth is Velocity Pro and really shows my Amature status as an installer.

Other pertinent details - Connely Pockets(Ebay Find), Oak hardwood with Mahogany Stain.

It is very heavy, solid and sturdy. I am not much of a player, but I think it plays pretty well. It matches a Foosball Table I made last winter.

Let me know what you think.:D

Thanks,
Greg

Very Nice Work!~ Heck, next you will be building your own cues!!!!!!!!

Great job, and have a good night!!!!

Greg,

That's a fine looking table you've built there, especially for your first attempt. A table like that would probably retail for $3,000 (or more). I am curious as to how much $$$ you invested into the build. Care to divulge???

Looks like a damn good job to me. Only thing I dont like is the color of the felt but all of us are different when it comes to that. The wood and stain look excellent IMO. Great job!

You might can make a living doing this;)

The only problem with him building his own cues is that they would be too heavy to pick up!!!!!!

Damn that table is sturdy !!!!!!

Very nice job.......:)

Not counting sweat equity, I think I have about $ 950.00.

It looks fantastic to me and the leg design looks like the old Brunswick Balke Collender tables from the turn of the century which are very stable. Great Job--Leonard

PS keep posting with us

Very nice job Greg!!! Nice design as well.
As a fellow woodworker I think I've got a pretty good idea of the kind of effort that's gone into the project... and hopefully, the sense of accomplishment you're enjoying. :)
I just finished a poker table and have been toying with the idea of building a table also. I lucked into a pretty good stash of a Brazilian hardwood a while back that keeps whispering "pool table" every time I walk by. Your effort might just get me off the dime... thanks!!!
Again, big time "atta boy" for great job.

I'm impressed...

Set the bar kinda high for your first post didn't you?:)
From someone who has a problem screwing two parts of a cue together...this is awesome! Really nice job.

Super nice

Looks like a professionally made table! Nice job. Can't wait to see what the heck your 2nd post is gonna be.

Beautiful table. I really like it. Rep to ya.

Counting sweat equity, how much would you charge to build one for someone else?

Awesome!!! How did you do this in such a shot time span?
A table can never be too heavy in my opinion. The heavier, the better they play. Good Job.

So far he has three green boxes off of two posts. That isn't 'kinda high', it must be a record by a very wide margin:D
