Three 3 Best Cue Makers in the World

Or just x-ray them.
My two mentors did.
I still have a few of the x-rays.
Mike Bender's construction is solid.
It's the shock value of sawing up high dollar masterpieces that makes it go viral!

People will literally be crying watching the cues of their dreams they could never afford being savaged!

And some people say they would help the hungry when they hit the lotto. :D

You'll end up buying more machinery and construct a larger shop. 😆

Well if you want to go through the whole process then that's fine. I will just say a machine (CNC) to a cue builder is as common a saw is to a carpenter. This can be said for the above tools you mentioned.

It is well known a Ferrari engine is hand built or a Mercedes AMG car too but we know they didn't create the entire engine. This is the same with cue builders. They are hand built.

I think it is disrespectful to cue makers. They are artisans.

We're buying them and their name. We're not buying CNC 2000X19-MN model.
The argument is from your claim of "pretty much handmade ".
They have a building full of machinery.
I would bet they're more equipped than more than 95% of the makers today.
More than 50% of the makers today don't even have a metal lathe..Most still use a tabletop turners.
Most do not use cnc. All carpenters have saws. Most makers do not have a cnc.

BB cues are made by men with the help of manual and automated machinery.

Snooker cues are still hand made for the most parts..They still hand plane their wood.

I'm sorry, were you trying to educate me about cues? Just wanted to be clear what your intentions are. I was answering to someone else who brought up cues as an investment as one path of looking at cues being "better." But, it looks like you're trying to educate me and others that cues aren't an investment. Hint for you: some cues are an investment. Please don't try to define "investment" for me. I don't need an education.

Some of these guys named I've never heard of.

Are they garage cue makers? There are cue makers and there are the guys in their garage.

Please state if they are a garage guy or a shop guy. My former neighbor has a lathe and he dicks around with table legs and baseball bats. We can say he makes a killer cue stick too.

Shocking that you haven’t heard of some of these guys. Also shocking that somehow you’re defining a “garage guy” or a “shop guy.” Some of these guys, their shop is their garage or smaller room in their house.

I mean, two rather prominent long-passed cuemakers immediately come to mind when it comes to "garage guys" or "basement guys."

One of those guys' "garage equipment" is now in someone else's "garage" lol.

Shhhh! Don’t tell!

The commentary in this thread is pretty funny. Couple guys who know cues better than most anyone alive, getting schooled by someone who obviously doesn't.

We could say he's a troll too if we wanted to.

I could never say who’s the best even after having at least one cue from most of the well known builders over the years. That being said, I had an old beat up Predator SP that played the 7-8 and the break better than a Richard Harris I owned. I had a late 90s Mottey that played better than a Gina and Tascarella and the latest cue I got from Rick Howard plays as good as any SW I’ve personally owned. If anyone has heard of Ray Mutter, from the Indianapolis area, one of the best playing cues I ever owned was a maple plain jane he made. Could Ray make a cue with as much bling or precision as Dennis, Capt Bob or a handful of other guys, nope, could his cues play just as good, absolutely. It’s all relative to the wood as well, you can take two identical looking shafts from the same builder and one plays like a million bucks and the other plays like Monopoly money.

Best, is like rehabilitation, it’s just a made up word…😎
