Would like to see other opinions on the the Tiger X Ultra shaft users.
Love the new Tiger X Ultra shaft. Predator 314 is OK but a lot more feel on the new Tiger shaft. No hollow spots on the Tiger shaft! It plays solid! Draw is easier and I have to be carefull with the masses - makes it a no brainer.

Tiger X shafts are great. I played with one for awhile, and never had any issues. I have never used a predator shaft, but I can tell you, you will not be disappointed with a Tiger. JMO
 
Never played with a Tiger shaft but I have always had a 314 and it's great. I would not be opposed to trying the tiger shaft if someone wanted to give me one for my schon cue, besides that scenario. If I needed a new shaft I will only pay for a predator and I'm going to be looking for a new 314-2 shaft when I head to vegas for the APA in August, I heard I can get it there for cheaper then online at there booth.

All I am saying is to give it a try. A lot more feel on your stroke. Just give it a shot. You won't be disappointed.

I'll have to ask around to see if anyone shoots with one around here to try out. I haven't heard of anyone using one but i'm sure someone does.

Any pros you know of that use them?
 
I never understood why people say Predator shafts hit hollow, I have hit with more than my share and sure there is a variance and some hit badly but nothing hollow. In fact with the right tip they hit like a brick, very hard and very strong.

Haven't played with the Tiger Ultra shaft yet, is it new?

Huh?
They are hollow and have very soft ferrules.

True, but in my experience one piece solid shafts with comparable ferrules hit just as softly, like a Meucci for example.

If you cut the Predator in half you know what I mean. They are hollow. Not sure how long they are hollow but absence of weight and laminated wood helps out on low deflection.

There is a slight chance I might be moving out to LA in the near future, any chance I can put in an application there? Do you have a spot for a short Japanese account executive?
 
i would like to get an ultra, but it seems none of the dealers have them yet. you can get them from tiger direct, but they charge full retail. corey, when will the ultra be more widely available?

also, what is different with the ultra? there doesn't seem to be that much different, same lamination technique, same ferrule. only thing i can see is there is now a red tip pad. and the joints are phenolic. maybe there is something different that i can't see from the pics. different taper? less deflection?

Um, I have seen them made and worked on the myself as I worked there for over 6 years. On weekends we would help out production and work on shafts doing every process to assemble and finish the shafts.

Look at specs on the 1st page of the post. The lamination technique is quite different actually.
Try Seyberts.com and talk to Rick and he will get you one.

I guess my question (and maybe McChen's) would be... what's different between the original X Shaft and the X Ultra construction wise? The original X wasn't really low deflection as far I remember trying it way back.
