What's the deal with the new Moori med? The last two that I popped out of the blister packs were total junk, completely too hard. I just tried a Kamui med and seems a little too hard as well. I just ordered some Kamui med/soft from Koinkid via e-bay, are these gonna be what I'm looking for? At this point I'm grasping for straws, all my usual Moori suppliers tell me they don't know when the med tips will be in stock. I know the obvious next step might be a moori soft, but in the past these were just too high maintence for my taste. Help a brother out please.

I put Moori soft tips on every cue that I build. You will have to cut the mushroom off 1 time but after that they hold there shape very good. I have played with the Kamui med soft tip. It just doesn't have the same control as the Moori soft to me.pathman said:

I put a Moori medium on my McDermott cue about 10 months ago. Had to trim it a little after about a week or two because of a little mushrooming. Haven't had a problem since. Keeps it shape extremely well and still plays like new. Great tip. You may want to trim you Moori after the initial mushrooming and see how it does.
i play with the morri hard and i think it hits great, i just need to hat balls for a few week with a new tip reshape it once and its good for like a year! i think the new morri hard hits more like the old med tips.
i hit a few balls with a kamui tip and it felt a lot like the old old morri tips i think thats what i will be using soon.

Looking for an old Moori tip? Go to Seyberts.com and order some blackjack tips medium. They will maintain the same hardness all the way. I do not play with anything else. Cheaper than Mooris and Kamuis as well
The Moori tips are not what they used to be....
They all tend to harden very fast and loose their playability....
I moved from medium to soft as well and it plays great for the first two weeks and then gets quite hard.
The Talisman medium are also nice for the first month or so, after that they tend to dry and they tend to deliminate.
Since most tips will loose their softness and their playability I decided to play with hard tips that are designed to be hard and still offer playbility.
I started to play with hard tips about a year ago.
Playing with hard tips require a better stroke so in a way playing with hard tips improve your stroke and your game....

Wizard Hard tips (from J&J) play great! hold their shape and their playability until the last two layers. Only downside is they make an awful sound when hitting the CB but if you can get used to it then give it a try.

I quit the Morri's also I am trying the blackjack as well But I truely went back to the good old milk dud tips I'm done with Laminated tips exept when I need a hard tip breaking then the superpro or 23 layer hercules these to tips never been a problem.
How many different grades of Kamui are there? I had a couple of Medium that I bought from Omega, but I don't remember if they are med, med-hard or med soft. I ordered some med-soft from koinkid yesterday, so I'm not sure what to expect. Anybody got an moori soft they would sell, I need 4.
i tried a kamui med and that thing played like a rock and wouldnt hold chalk. sniper and everest work great, according to meuller's and from my experiance from trying both, sniper is softer than everest. or go with a pressed or duded elk. runa search on "milk dude". check out the link in my signature, on that page is a spread sheet of common tips and thier hardness ratings along with my opinions of the ones i've tried.
If you like a hard tip, go super pro. they are red colored layered water buffalo, they cost less than triangle and play and break great.
They come in S-MS-M-H

I STOPPED BUYING KAMUIS AND MOORIS. THERE ARE SEVERAL LAYERED TIPS OUT THERE THAT PLAY AND MAINTAIN JUST AS WELL FOR LESS MONEY. THE WIZARD TIPS ARE THE BEST BUY FOR THE MONEY. I PLAY WITH A HARD, SO I CAN'T TELL YOU ABOUT THE FIRMNESS OF THE MEDIUMS, BUT I'VE INSTALLED TEN OR SO FOR EX MOORI USERS AND THEY LOVE THE WIZARD MEDIUMS.

Everest is a softer tip than Sniper. From my experience with them and also from the Tiger site itself.
Snipers are rated as Mediumhard and Everest are rated as Medium
It's not day/night but there is a definite difference.
The durometer is 97 Sniper, 96 Everest

talisman makes a pretty good medium tip. give that a try
You guys really need to try the New Molavia Tips.

take it up with mueller's i belive they do thier own testing for thier hardness scale 1-100 soft to hard, and they have sniper rated at 66.9 medium and everest listed at 75.1 medium.

also i have sniper's on my baker and albrecht and everest on my predator and my old players, and my installed snipers are softer than my installed everests....
regarless though, both are very good tips at decent pricing. they hold chalk and thier shape very well.
