Tired of negitive replies

I was curious, so I did some research to see what caused you to start this thread. Here is what I found:

Pangit started a thread that was, as usually, hard to follow. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=269168

You read the thread and posted what you thought he was trying to say.

Someone responded to your post the same way most people responded to the entire thread, negatively, as it was another troll post by a troll. Here are some of his other threads to further demonstrate his trollness:
http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=269163
http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=264241

And here is one that didn't go over well with JAM, who responded negatively on page #1:
http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=265912

So really, it is not the negative people that you should be upset with, it is the trolls.

MM, don't let the trolls win.

Take a break, hit some balls, drink some of Hanks water, and come back to share your wit and wisdom with us again at some point.

I think we all need a break occasionally. (Except Black Balled, i think he's never too far from the forums...:p )

If you have nothing positive to post shut the **** up!
This will be my last post on this forum.

Measureman,
I’ve been here a few months, and just figuring out who is worth reading and who is not. When I see your name on a thread, I definitely want to read it!
(I also learned not to read Pangit’s threads, so maybe that was a tiny mistake on your part). :D

Anyway, really prefer to have you around. !

If you’re too embarrassed to go back on your word, come back with a new name! ....so nobody will know who you are, Perhaps "measureman2" :p

Or....... come back as a troll ? if you cant beat ‘em, join ‘em ! :shocked2:

Lastly, how can you resist using all these really cool emoticons!:speechless:

Aw man, I can't follow this with my "Rainbow Love Cannon fired by a Pink Pony" picture now.

Sigh...

I may have to apologize for my last post?
I see the pink pony analogy fits your preoccupation with horses to express yourself. "your signature".

"Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse."

But dude ... they're ponies!!!!!

I found a related picture for you though ... best I have for this.

Its the internet dude. Go take a break, kick a puppy and come back when you feel like it. Or don't. Its completely understandable.

But.....the "Goodbye Cruel World !!!" post is not the way to go out. Mainly because you look silly when you come back and most of us all come back at one point or another.

I always tell myself when I get ready to pull the plug the one thing I wont do is "the Last Post". I'll just leave and never come back.

Some do, some don't. I did it on the usenet newsgroup rec.sport.billiard and never went back. I can understand what you're saying though, I've "quit Pool forever" more times than I care to remember and still play.......at the moment:p

Did you have something positive to add to Bruce's post?
Or are you simply here to prove his point?

I was complimenting your post...

Lots of people take breaks, some quietly, some out of frustration, some due to life changes. Some come back, a rare few don't. I've never, to my memory, had a bad word to say about him or to him. Why would I start now?

Mark was right in the Podcast, people are wound up far too tightly these days. Calling me stupid doesn't exactly rank up there with positivity.

Last year President Obama proved they had a machine. When the term "secular socialist machine" is used, that is correct. They proved they had a machine when they got $787 billion with no elected Member having read the bill.

"No taxation without representation," a term one might remember from history used by Americans to explain why the British monarchy was unacceptable, actually means that representation has to know what the money is being taken for.

I dont know your specific problem but
this place would be unbearable if every post was positive. It would also mean that most posts were pure bs. i want to hear the bad and the good.

No more free water at Hanks-Thats positive?

We saw an assembly in Marty's office in New York, like 9 months ago, and left with a strong sense of what he was trying to do with the song. We then went back to Dublin and started thinking what we wanted to do with the song, and it came pretty quickly, actually, musically speaking. We got some themes going. Bono worked on the lyrics.

Lol...that is amazing. People still read the Pangit threads. Seriously, I understand the the aiming threads. I understand the league threads. I understand the gambling and smoking threads (which I'm a part of). Those are all passionate and opinionated subjects. But to lose control over the troll threads??? You don't even have to open the thread...it says Pangit right underneath the subject.

If this is the reason MM is calling it quits, I didn't really see any negativity. Troll starts a thread. MM translates the trollspeak. Poolhustler says it didn't bear repeating...negativity toward the translator is usually negativity toward the message, not the person...unless MM and poolhustler have a history

I put the over/under at 6 months when this guy makes his next post.

Certain types of negative posts are undeniably inappropriate, especially posts that either a) attack or show insufficient respect for one or more posters, or b) bring the integrity of other posters, personalities or companies within pool into question without very strong evidence.

In my view, however, most negative posts are appropriate, provided they are presented tastefully and with supporting facts and logic.

"Poster A is a moron" doesn't cut, but "Because they failed to consider factor A, I believe that Poster A is mistaken in their conclusions" is OK.

"Pool is doomed" doesn't cut it, but "I'm pessimistic about pool for these five reasons ....." is and invites civil, constructive debate.

"Pro Player A discredits the game" doesn't cut it but "For these five reasons, ... , I feel that Player A's conduct may lower the image of pool."

etc., etc., etc.

If you have something negative to say, can offer the reasoning behind your assertion, and can present it in a tasteful way, more often than not, you should post it.

Sadly, it is undeniable that the exchanges that occur on this forum are far less civil than they were five years ago.

Negativity and free speech are a part of life and crucial for freedom. There are very bad things that happen in the world. People get murdered and raped etc etc... Negativity in a pool forum is pretty low on the list. If thats what gets you worked up in life, things must be pretty cushy.

Well, that could be one way to look at it. The other [more understanding] way might be that the person is already experiencing Very Bad Things[tm] in his/her life. Their one and only place of solace -- perhaps here at AZB -- is itself experiencing some kind of negativity to be the straw that breaks the camel's back for this person, and they in turn "go off" rather than treat it like water on a duck's back.
