Ok, let's go thru it one more time. I know 4000 people. I work with 3000 every day. I got a little pool life, a little boating life, and the rest of this mess I have been creating for 56 years. Duh, Blacked-Balled???????? When was the last time I put a tip on for ya and how come you haven't come back for another one? I'm sorry, I got a lot going on. What pipe? :D

OK one more time.

Where is Ted Harris's shop located?

I asked my wife :D :D :D .

His shop is located just north of Pembroke Rd on Dixie Hwy in Hollywood. The building is two stories next to a car lot. If traveling I-95 exit onto Hollywood Blvd east to Dixie Hwy then south about a mile-- the shop is on the right.

if he's posted elsewhere since this thread started, why hasn't he come here to explain his side of the story, i wonder. if you're insinuating that this is all just a misunderstanding, then it's even more important that ted straighten things out, just to protect his reputation,,,,don't you think?

MY guess is that his reticence here implies an undefendable position.

That is precisely my take on the situation! I also heard about the gentleman in Tiawan that ordered the cues paid for them and never received them, so this is certainly not a one time situation with Ted! :(

maybe we should all go down to his shop with pitch forks and flaming torches in the middle of night with straw hats and overalls on, and beat down the door of his shop and make him give us all his cues and then burn down his shop....that would be sweet. All kidding aside, in california it just seems that buisness people in the pool world havent quite caught up to the modern era of customer service. They arent really buisness people they are old pool players that decided to make a living selling pool related services. So they kept their back room attitudes, but instead of dealing with hustlers, bookies, railbirds, and drunks, they are dealing with customers. Except someone forgot to show them the difference.

WOW....I think Mr. Trudeau hired Ted Harris to do all of the cue repair for the IPT. Birds of a feather and all.........So you should get 11% of your cue any time now....and another 11% in a few months.

This thread is from over one year ago. Did Mr. Lucky ever get his cue? I met Ted and he is a nice guy, but it seems he has a few customers that are not satisfied.

It wasn't pretty, but my understanding is that Mr. Lucky (Phil) got his cue, thanks to this thread in fact.

On a pier in Miami with a Mac Cue in one hand and several crawdads in the other. With a 30' piece of 50lb.test monofilament line tied around the ferrule and three #4 hooks with agold Lou Butera tip tapper for a sinker. Kathy was sitting spraddle legged on the pier peeling tators and deep frying flounders in a used paint bucket. And Ted SAid, and I quote,"I'm just looking for my next meal". And when asked about the gold sinker, Ted Said, and I quote" becase they never rust, and sometimes the fish bite them".

phil,,,,it's called "cuemaker's time", and it's quite different from normal time.
i guesstimate that it's slower than "general contractor renovation" time or the gestation period of a whale. there are a few that are prompt, but you have to search.

it goes something like this.....
1...take any and all orders no matter how backed up they are.
2...expensive cues come first.
3...take in more orders.
4...have so many orders, they don't know where to start.

If indeed the cue is already done, then it has nothing to do with the proverbial "cuemakers time". If it is done, it has to do with poor business practices by Mr. Harris.

If the scenario went down as layed out in the initiated post of this thread, then Mr. Harris is the worse business man ever mentioned on this forum.

Cuemaker's time needn't exist. Most people don't mind waiting as long as they know how long they'll have to wait and are notified of any unforeseen occurences that delay the deliver. I waited quite a long time for my Skip Weston, but no longer than he told me up front I'd wait. That's all we cue buyers want.
