Unique challenges that women players face

Quite a while ago, I was playing this lady in a pool tournament. She played horrible and her stance was just awful but I could tell that she really wanted to play better. I asked her after the match if she'd like some pointers and she enthusiastically said yes. I told her that first of all, her stance was all wrong. She looked at me and said, "I can't do anything about my stance." I asked her why and she pointed to her breasts - they were very large. She said she couldn't stand right and have any room for the cue. I decided to shut up and never try to give advice to a woman player again.

Karen Corr has huge breasts and she is one of the best .

Karen Corr is also one of the nicest people period. ( whether they play pool or not).

I cannot say I really know her well - but all of my interactions with her have been extremely pleasant.

I do wish she would 'spice up' her attire - and not necessarily in a sexy way.

Just something a little less 'unattractive' - and then maybe she would receive some of the attention she deserves.

A real classy lady.

A female friend of mine has to choose her shirt very carefully for league night...

Old grimey pool player men have no problem blatantly staring at her during her whole game, to the point where I've had to make it known that people are noticing them and calling them out right in the middle of a match.

You might consider that the only thing that makes the girl that's getting gawked at uncomfortable is the part where you call the gawker out and make an unnecessary scene.

Or I could be wrong and the lovely lady later thanks you profusely for saving the day.

Most people watching pool stare at the person shooting whether male or female during league in my observations.

There are indeed many challenges that women pool players face, not the least of which is the difficulty of the game itself. As soon as a woman starts to play well, a lot of that other stuff amazingly disappears. Jeanette was just a very pretty Asian lady player until she started beating the men, as well as the other women. Then she really gained the respect of her opponents and the onlookers. Two years ago at DCC she had the attention of everyone for all the right reasons. She was kicking ass and taking names! Jasmin is very attractive as well, but when you see her play, you forgot all that and begin to marvel at her stroke and ability. And Jasmin fears no one, man or woman, on the table. I guarantee you her male opponents are not reflecting on her looks when they are playing her.

She is very, very nice. Quick story from the 2008 DCC:

I've signed up for the 1pocket/Banks HOF dinner, so I go up to the desk and tell them, because the fourth round 1pocket draw is coming up around 6pm. And several folks behind the desk say OK, we'll put you down as at the dinner, just don't stay there forever, and I watch them write my name on the list. The dinner is cool and at the last moment Rachael Abbink sits down next to me. She is wearing this white, very low-cut, polka dot blouse and well, it was all just quite pleasant. Half way through the presentations, after Jimmy Reid and Petey Fusco get their awards, I see Efren and Karen Corr get up. So I figure they're still in the tournament and I'd better hustle back. It's pouring cats and dogs, so we have to wait for the shuttle from the Executive East back to the Executive West and a small group forms and the next thing I know, we pig pile into the van and Karen Corr is squeezed in next to me. She's so close that it's a bit awkward and I turn to her and say, "A pleasure meeting you." She laughs and says, "Yes, my pleasure, too."

I guess you could consider that but you could also consider that it is my friend and I'm pretty sure she would let me know if it bothered her... coincidentally she thanked me for embarrassing the eye vandal.

Furthermore, most people stare at the shot, not directly at the players ass or down their shirt non-stop.

It wasn't all that long ago that women weren't even allowed in a pool room. They've come a long way, baby.

you get no sympathy from me.
35 years ago when i was in my twenties i had to put up with dirty old pool women staring at my a$$ when i was in my shooting stance.
Somehow i managed to get over it.

LMAO you obliging old P____!!! LOL

well, at least they don't have to worry about leaning way out for that diagonal shot across the table on a polished hardwood or linoleum floor. You know the one: where the near corner pocket is located just under "Ground Zero" and you always seem to lose traction on that one foot you've got touching the floor.

as Smorg might have said:
"Yee ha!"
