Scott has stepped up his game again. He has come up with an all new design, that is just amazing and like nothing else I have ever seen. Heres his description...............

Priority on this cue was a unique design. The cue is built with Ebony, Ivory, Silver, Amboyna burl, and Maple burl. Three pieces of Ebony were cored and glued to construct the length. The darker wood in the inlays is Amboyna burl and the thin light colored inlays are Maple burl. The Silver and Ivory speak for themselves. The silver rings were a time consuming pain in the ???.
I hope this is on of those cues that gets better the more you look at it. It did for me. It's my favorite build to date. Can I build a cue I like better? Who knows.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

WOW! I have seen a lot of beautiful cues here on AZ and a lot of them owned by you tikkler, but s.o.b. man Scott has seriously out done himself on this master piece. I mean damn what a freaking monster....and to say congrats for picking this one up and a super duper congrats to Scott Gracio for an outstanding job done. The detail work all over the cue is sweet as hell man, I really dig it from top to bottom. WOW!!

Thank you very much for sharing pics and I'll be curious to know if you'll hit a few balls with it and if so, what the hit is like?!

Best,
Mo

Hi,

I have seen Ernie's silver cue from the 60s & many since, a lot of DPKs silver work over the years up close and I now observe that Scott is making his bones in a way where his work is in that rarefied air. This work does not speak for itself, it screams for itself!

Masterful Job and also inspirational to all of us cue makers. Cue of the year? Can someone spell 2 peat.:clapping:

It sure looks like cue of the year....I agree

Steve,

I got a chance to see some of your cues at the cue show in St Louis last year and they were all very impressive, however this is by far the nicest one (my opinion only). Truly stunning work here by Scott.

Hey Steve,

Scott's work is awesome and your macro pictures don't lie on Scott's detail inlay design.
Awesome cue! When I was collecting cues I did own one of Scott's cue and it was an amazing player.
Just curious to see what's coming next from Scott's shop. He's raising the bar higher every time.

Hey

Scott deserves so much credit for going so far out there on this cue. He new that I wanted something BERSERK......and he came thru. but he also made it so fresh and new with his own talents.
Wait until you see the 3 cue set he is working on for me.......

this is one *****^&*%&&* amazing looking cue....who provided the design for this cue? The work/craft is amazing but the design is outstanding to begin with! The choice of contrast on this cue is spot on...it's bling but not in a blinding all diamond gold inlay way...now that's what i call rolling in style, class and elegance!!

Gracio cue

Hi Steve
Thanks for posting the pics and by the amount of other posts from other makers you have been a busy guy.
Scott toiled over this cue for quite a while.
He even had to inlay a section of it over again.
The new design flows so much better in that section.

What a treat of a cue.
P.S. Have you taken it for a spin yet ??

Again Thanks for sharing

.......................

Thanks for the compliments.

I'll go into more detail from what Cueballdg mentioned. I started the inlays from center out thinking it would be easier to replace the butt of forearm section if something went wrong. The closer I got to finishing the design the less I liked the handle. The pictures below are a test cut of the first design drawn for this cue. Some changed were made before cutting it into the handle but it's close to what was replaced. No I did not take picture before I replaced them. It was a 4AM brain fart moment!!! I saved the design and might use it on a future cue.
.
Dan (Cueballdg) is one of the few people that stopped by my shop and saw the original handle design. It's not easy trashing hours of inlays in silver and Ivory but it didn't flow with the butt/forearm design. The big Ivory with some silver outlines fit the cue perfect.
This cue has so much silver it took me 5 hours to polish the metal before clearing. I hate polishing metal surrounded by wood. Preparing it for clear pushed my patients to a new level.

IMO The pictures are great but you need to see this cue in person to appreciate it.

I'm so happy you like the cue Steve. I'll do what I can to make the next cues unique and better.
