somebody, plse corraoborate or quash this rumor

It all comes down to who ever buys one of these cue's that who ever is makeing these cue's dont want their name attached to these cues for one reason or another. So from this point on if it matters to the perspective buyer dont purchase these cue's. But if all the reviews are good about the cue's and that all that matters to the buyer then they will purchase the cue's. Like was said before I wonder what the big secret is unless who ever is makeing these cue's has people waiting on cue's already on order ? .... Just my opinion..... Personally I would want to know who is makeing the cue or I would not buy it,,,,,,ED

Why not just contact the dealer you bought the cue from and ask for a weight bolt. Or, PM Unity Cues directly on here and ask them for one. Or for the thread size so you can get one. How would you go about getting a weight bolt for any other cue?

Personally, I don't think knowing the names of the makers is that big of a deal. I know the name of the company is Unity Custom Cues. I don't know the names of the makers at Schon, or Mezz, or Southwest, or a dozen other cue making shops. I just know about their product and reputation. Just my .02.

Thanks Cyrex about time someone with some sense responded. If any of our buyers have any problems with our cues PM us (Unity or Tommie1351) its that simple. Unity cues are fully warrantied. We are not in the maketing biz we build CUES point blank, so if we F@#KED up with how we went about marketing them then we apologize. All we know is we have built and sold rite at 40 Unity so far and not one issue. We have had only positive feed back from our customers. As for you guys claiming you know who builds these cues, good for you. Pat yourself on the back and move on.

Thanks,
Unity

Question for you...

when a customer orders one of YOUR cues (not a Unity but a ________) or one who is waiting on a cue already ordered asks for a timeframe, do you tell them it may take a little longer than expected because of this new side business?

not sure about unity cues, but counter fitters-here's my thoughts

im not familiar with the term "Unity", but

counter fitters who intend to defraud cue buyers and make extra $$ based on other peoples ideas or reputations, the guys who started building Gus's after he passed away are the worst of the worst.

People who do that sort of thing are terrible and should be knocked by anyone who knows the facts. I personally dont know 100% for a fact who the guilty guys are, so I cant say for certain therefore I keep my mouth shut. If I knew 100% forsure who a counter fitter was I'd dime them out instantly. I think I know who one of the "Gus" counter fitters was but I'll never say cause i'm not positive and never will be, I wasnt there, and spreading rumors with strong accusations like that is bad form. Too bad things like this happens.

perhaps i'm confused about this topic. or name Unity.

I'm speaking for alot of guys out there in the billiards world when I ask: WHO THE HECK ARE YOU GUYS?!?!? You don't need to be afraid to tell anyone. You are free to make whatever cue you want to and sell it for what you want to no matter what. These cues bear NO name, NO logo, and NO marking of any kind that I've seen on mine, so there is no way to distinguish it as your regular cues if it IS made by an 'established' cue-maker like I'm told it is. I guess a name is worth a little more money to prove it was made by a certain individual, so man up and say who you are! How is anyone supposed to get extra shafts or work done to them if need be? Where does any kind of warranty come into play? I need a weight bolt for mine...Can you send ME one? I personally like mine and it was a good deal I guess...BUT a little info on who the heck you are would sure be nice. How are we to know that you aren't some hack-job out there making cues? You could be anyone, you know this! Maybe I should have held out for something marked by a 'proud' maker willing to sign it or put his logo onto it? After thinking about this, I won't buy another one for anyone unless something is done to know who you are for sure. There are rumors about who you are but rumors are just that...rumors, and I want FACTS as do alot of others before THEY spend their hard earned money on one

You obviously know how to contact us since on 1-25-11 @ 2:25 AM you sent us a PM asking who we are and to "trust" you with our identity blah blah blah. At that point in time you could of easily asked us for a weight bolt. We understand that people are spending their hard earned money on a cue or on anything for that matter. We know that the times are tough. Money is hard to come by. The billiard industry is as weak as its ever been. That is why we are honestly trying to offer these cues at what we feel is a reasonable price for the quality. We work very hard on these cues, its not a walk in the park. So we definitely understand were you guys are coming from. Cue making is very hard for the money. Its physical labor, its stressful, its something we have to warranty for life. We do it because WE LOVE IT. Its our passion.

Unity

P.S. WE ARE VERY PROUD OF WHAT WE BUILD, IT SHOWS IN OUR WORK.

To answer your question, ABSOLUTELY NOT. I have ALWAYS met my delivery dates and hope to always be able to. The Unity cues we are building them on the side when we have time. We are doing 10-20 at a time, that is how we are getting the quantities up. As for my partner I dont knw what he tells his customers or how its affecting his delivery dates.
Thanks,
Unity

For me personally the name on the cue doesn't really matter as long as it plays well. And for $300 or so dollars I could care less who made it if it played well. The only hold back I have is if it is made by one of the well known or not so well known cue makers that I personally would NOT want to give my money to for whatever personal reason I have. That is the reason why I haven't given a Unity cue a try yet. I don't know who makes them so I don't want to give my money to a cue maker that is on my personal "Don't By From" list. If I could verify that all the Unity cue makes are not on my black list I would give it a try no problem. I mean its a pretty cheap price for any cue IMHO.

Yes; I don't think this has anything to do with counterfeiting. It's simply two cuemakers who make cues under their own names now also making cues under the Unity Cues brand name without disclosing their own names. Some people don't like that; some people see nothing wrong with it.

That's the primary issue. If you have the spare time to knock out 20 cues under a pseudonym, why not let one or two customers get the cues they ordered from YOU (not Unity) on time. Or even a little early? Why not just add these plain janes to your 'catalog' so to speak and let them sell themselves?

Mia, who are you?
Where do you live?
What do you do for a living?
How much money do you earn?
Are you heterosexual?

Man, you guys should handle Unity like you should handle your own lives.
If its not about you, doesn't concern you, then don't worry about it.

If you like the cues, buy one, if you don't like them, don't concern yourselves over something thats absolutely none of your damn business.

Just like a bunch of gossipy old women talking about the shit stains in your husbands undies.

Go shoot some pool!

Wow you need to move on you have been busting our balls from day one. Here's what I will do for you if you want to no so bad I will play you some and if you win lol I will tell you who we are.Until you man up or women up ,you need to grow up and move on its getting old

Wow you guys at Unity are poets and don't even no it lol

P.S.
I'm goin to play you with a unity fresh out of the box.....

Unity seems to be producing a quality product at a very competitive price. If they want to keep their identity to themselves that is their right.

I agree that the constant hounding is getting really old. I'm sure in time someone will slip up or the cuemakers will decide on their own to reveal their identities. I've seen their cues though I don't own one yet. Beautiful work.

The cues look decent, the reviews are good. Let it go. If you want, I will sell you my pechauer for 200.00 and buy one to review. Then you get the name brand and I take my chances. It is their decision to market however they want. Sooner or later the big secret will be known. KISS has no make up these days, it is just marketing. John

Thats good idea. I have an early 90s 5 point Schon (maybe rare) in great shape for $500.
If I can sell the Schon, I will buy a Unity to demo.
One step closer to divorce if i buy another cue but I like the Unity.

They want to sell cues for $300. If everybody knew it was really a collaboration of Barry Szamboti and Bill Schick, they couldn't do that. Fatboy would just corner the market anyway. So please, let Barry and Bill sell their affordable cues, OK?
