This is a rare cue has never been turned down to a playing standard size. This cue is 4.5" around at the base, it made from a great peice of Rosewood with some awsome grain characteristics. This Titelist is perfect for someone who wants to build a custom rare cue, a one of a kind; It has no flaws that won't turn out. There are No cracks or splits in this cue. This Titlist as it is now is a RARE collectable. It has 4 prongs and as you can see has vibrant inlays. This cue blank came from a company that originally made the Brunswick Willie Hoppe Titlists. This is as far as I know one of three known existing blanks left.

How truthful is that? I've never even seen or heard of unturned blanks coming from anywhere......looks way vibrant but that would depend on how its been stored all these years...

if it were real I'm sure it would be worth more as is than it ever could be finished.....

if real wouldn't $600 be a great price maybe even low ball?

I would think that something like that, if authentic it would be worth a grand easily and probably should be quite a bit higher than that.

But then again would say 3K be too much for a authentic one?

I've just never seen this b/f and I like to think myself well versed in cues and their history, trying to figure out where it would fit into the scheme of things...tho it would def be on the historical/collectible side and not for conversion use IMOP as there are a million conversions, and a bunch of titlists but like I said I aint never seen or heard of this.

Just fishy to me....

There are some possibilities. The comment about being from a company that
made blanks for Brunswick is a bit puzzling, unless he is refering
to the Titlist division - which could have been a wholly owned subsidiary,
and therefore, a different company.

Brunswick did outsource the Hoppe during its end of days, but I also have
never heard of anyone else making the 'house cue' version. Who knows,
this may be one that for whatever reason was started but never
completed - or even a test model, made by a potential supplier, that
never went into production.

ok cool well whats the market value on that? I'm not looking to buy the thing, tho it would be nice to have throw away $$$ to snap it up. Just wondering whats the value on an item like that.
 
That's how they were made. Oversize with the ferrule and tip installed, then they were put in a sanding machine and turned down to size, hot stamped with the signature and weight, decal added, then clear coated. Brunswick did sell some to cue makers, but they had to have some volume or know somebody.

Here's a page I did showing a couple of the blanks I have. They are hard to find, but there are some around still. That one on e-bay looked like it had some nice wood in the handle.

The market value must be below $700 because no one has jumped on it. I've been looking for one fat enough to do a wrapless and this one would surely fit the bill. It is just a bit pricey for me.

I consider these collector pieces rather than just raw materials. If you just want a blank for conversion, Prather will make you one with the woods of your choice. As is, these are very rare. Once converted, they are just like any of the other thousands of Titlist conversions out there. I have only seen 3 of these for sale, and I own two of them.

I'm with you there....a piece like this is NOT MENT TO BE CONVERTED, why would anyone even think of that?

just a handful out of the tens of thousands they made are still in raw untouched form....its a historical piece showing the prefinish product.

belongs in a museum imop

It sold for $700. I think that's pretty reasonable considering what it was. The hard core oldie collectors certainly would like to own one of these.

The one on E-Bay looks like someone sanded it. Mine are so rough they'll give you splinters. I took one of mine to a cue collectors show and it got more interest than the $20,000 art cues.

Titliest cues

Although it seems like yesterday (it was actually in 1989), I bought 14 of these blanks - brand new, never touched. In fact they were in individual plastic 'bags'.

I stole them at $50 each.

I traded/sold them to a few special people over the years.

Just to let everyone know that these are'out' there.

I suppose. It is just that I want a titlist that I can convert for my personal player, that I would probably keep forever. I want it to be wrapless and I've looked for a long time for a regular titlist that is fat enough to be a candidate but I can never find one. So to me it wouldn't be one of the thousands of titlist conversion out there, it would be the one I converted and of course special to me. Possibly the only one I would ever convert. I have no interest in a prather blank.

I have some that are good conversion candidates with nice handle woods that are fat enough for a wrapless. If interested, shoot me a PM and I'll e-mail you some pics. Let me know if you need some measurements.
