I think that was Old Fart (that may just be his billiard nickname).
He's here every year, but usually can't find his seat, so you usually don't see him in the vids.
I've been with Earl in the smoking area between rounds. NOBODY has the nerve to ask him about the finger tape, pads, straps, weights, cue wraps, etc...
Now if you wanted to talk about the disparagy between payouts for pool players and golfers, Earl was your man.
That was one great interview by Jimmy Wych! He somehow made Earl feel comfortable enough to be very revealing about himself and his "equipment."
Not always an easy thing to do. Good job Jimmy!
That guy was part of Johnny Archer/Nick Varner Pool School I participated in last year in Maryland. He was a nice guy and very into pool. Loves the game and had his book with all sorts of notes.
Ladies and gentlemen that is the world famous "Billiards Attention Whore"!!! Known to be lurking in the dark corners of pool halls and tournament venues all across America. Beware...he may show up at your next event!!! :grin-square:
I think he also placed fairly well in the Amateur event at the SBE a few years ago too. Not a bad player. I can't believe I forgot his name though. I see him everywhere there is pool going on.
