Awesome comeback by USA after England had them on ropes leading 6-3 and up 3-0 in Match 10.
Top performers on USA were the 3 S, Skylar, Styer, SVB
Underperformers on England were Appleton, Boyes and Majid.

Bookmakers odds -Europe to win this year 1.44 (about 70% chance) USA to win 3.25 odds.
Bookmarkers expect Europe to win with score 11-7

Congrats to Team USA with the win. Skyler and Tyler ( "are they brothers?" RIP Sid Wadell) played very solid - takes some of the pressure of SVB.

Thorpe was seriously jetlagged after some airline trouble it seems, so I wouldn't judge him on his performance.

Corey is unpredictable

The team is in better physical shape than any USA team before, that is a factor.

Johan has managed to build a Team, and I believe they will put up a very good fight next week.

1. This was just a warm up match. Most people had already dismissed this as a waste of time. Obviously the thread for the actual Mosconi will have a lot more discussion.

2. It's not as if every single fan of pool is a member of AZB, or even posts regularly.

3. The FB stream was constantly around 3 to 4 thousand viewers yesterday. I'm assuming most of those were Americans since other countries can just watch on Sky Sports.

It wasn't on Sky Sports - it was exclusively streamed on Facebook Live,

If the actual Mosconi Cup event could end-up exactly like this practice match, wow, would that be great. Once the stream starting working better, it was really fun to watch.

This may have been discussed already so pls excuse me if so but will this years MC be shown on Sky Sports or exclusively on Facebook?

I did see that North & South America will both be able to watch on FB but didn't know if this meant Sky Sports wasn't involved this year.

I'm guessing they are but would appreciate clarification.

C'mon Man!

More like Europe's F team and thats not exaggeration...

LOL yes that is a HUGE exaggeration IMO to call them the 'F Team'. But I commend you for your sense of English 'nationalism' and belief in England's 'other' players. I am curious what other 5 player England Team you would choose over this team? I agree possibly replacing Imran with Daryl Peach would be a big upgrade........but any team with Chris, Darren, Mark & Karl simply doesn't deserve to be called the 'F' team.........that's an insult to them and implies you can name 25 better players.

I took Marek's post as including all of Europe (Shaw, Filler, Albin, and such)..not just England. Although I still believe the 5 lads from England could compete with most any combination of 5 you put together...they may not be able to win, but they would have a good showing for themselves.

OH sorry my bad. I thought Marek usually knew what he was talking about and I enjoy his posts. He said "Europe's F Team" not 'England's F Team'. Yes then the analogy makes a little more sense.

Regardless of how well they actually played, that England team is right up there. Melling is a sensational all round pool talent and Appleton and Boyes are world champions. Gray floats under the radar but is as good as anyone. Majid is a top player by any standards. USA were favourites in my book beforehand but it was never ever going to be easy. Their comeback should give them confidence and build some team spirit.

This was a good match and a great concept - let’s hope it becomes an annual thing and we see Europe play a North American team for a warm up next year. Play quality opposition, shake off the jet lag, ramp up the interest in the real thing. Everyone’s a winner. Can’t be bad.

Well, crap.

It took me too long to get off farcebook...I'm not chancing having it undo what I've done simply by going there.

Oh well, another pool event not seen. :frown:

You can have a Facebook account without friends. Will take you a couple of minutes to set up and you will be free to watch the free stuff.

I wish more USA fans to be more optimistic about their team and everything is done to become a better team and give a fight. As an european of course I will root for Europe on Mosconi cup but I honestly wish USA team all the best and to perform their best as a team because that is what makes this cup a great show for the audience and that is the best for the game at the end.
PS. I also wish the stream does not drop down in Mosconi cup group on FB during actual event as it happened sometimes yesterday. On the times the was no such problems with the stream ...the picture and commentating were great though.
