Seriously, he and Mike Sigel had one of the biggest rivalries pool has ever seen and seeing them do battle one last time in an all around format would be awesome. Sigel is one of the greatest all around players ever.

Sigel is one of the greatest all around jerks too.
Ken
Have you ever met him?
I have and he was a cool guy and easy to chat with.
What is your experience that would make you comment as you did?
Daulton??? I'm just not sure he is in the same league as Varner although I do not know him or watched him very much. Would people want to see that match up? I can understand the others but this is one I am just not sure of.Varner/Sigel or Varner/Hopkins or Varner/Daulton.... Either if those match ups get my vote...
I actually just spoke to Shannon. Bank Pool hall of Fame and 1 pocket hall of fame. He may be able to play a littleBfdlad surely that was young in cheek.
Film it in Kentucky... Easy for Buddy, Nick or Shannon....
This is also for Ken4Fun. The location ideas are great however most of the time the people who would sponsor a weekend event like this are obviously the pool room and local busness people so its hard to just pick out locations. I really like Tracy at High pockets in Memphis, great guy but I am almost positive he would not be willing to put up all the money that is needed to make this happen. So where does the rest of it come from? I do not know anyone in Memphis who loves pool and would be willing to sponor it. I guess all I am saying is I have to try areas that I have some contacts who may be willing to do some sponsorship. I am waiting for an answer and hope to get one today. If that does not work I got to try something else.Film it in Kentucky... Easy for Buddy, Nick or Shannon....

I know Sigel is up there and may have more face time with TV, pool mags etc and Buddy would be great but unsure on if he could make it to the place were were gonna do this. It could be in Oregon and I know he don't like that kind of travel anymore. So Shannon is a good choice but I need asses in seats to make it worth it to sponsors.
I think if I can get one going maybe the winner can play the next on the list once we figure out if a all around is popular enough. Thanks for your input Todd.

Ken, you have to remember that although I love putting things on for the pool community and enjoy what I do, this is how I make my money. Its not a alot of money buyt I love what I do. Therefore talking to TAR (Who by the way I have a great relationship with) does not make money for me. I know that may soiund greedy but there is alot of work that goes into these and I know not many would do it for free unless they are already set financially and just want to do it. Breaking even for a streamer again would be a no go either. I have spoken to many of them and believe me they all want something out of it at the end. Again I appreciate your comments and I am really not trying to be rude or anything like that but there is alot more to these things than most people think. Even for TAR its not as easy as getting the funds together and getting the players there.Tracy is an awesome pool room owner. He puts players in tournaments all over and does a great job running his business as well. A phone call might be a good start.
I was originally hoping that TAR would pick this up. JCIN mentioned he would love to have Nick play in an all around event. Airfare to Vegas is the cheapest in the country. But some has noted keeping it local might be even cheaper. TAR has the advantage of experience, a place, and knowing how to promote it. I recommend you touch base with the boys at TAR, and secondly Tracy.
Big Truck comes down here for tournaments often but I have only seen him at The Rack. Problem with The Rack is its pretty cramped for space and I honestly think alot more folks would come to see at Highpockets.
As far as sponsors, IMO, anyone who streams it would at least break even. I cant see it being a big money maker for anyone, but what in pool is a big money maker?
