When you play for money what cue do you trust?
Not a list of great builders! Name your best hitting cue!!!!

What tip and shaft taper?
It should be a description of the cue you named on the first question.

Do you break with that cue?

Pictures please.

When the money is on the line there is only one cue that should be used!

LOL. I am currently playing with the cue in my avatar. 19.5oz, 13mm lbm with instroke tips. Chris.

What's that 5 piece cue worth? I saw one at a pawnshop in poor condition and they wanted $60. Did I make a mistake not buying?

I do not play for money. But if I would I would play with my Dave Kikel, hands down. I would play with a Gracio as well if I had one. I have a friend mine that has wrapless one and oh boy did that cue played lights out :ok:

Nope you saved yourself from overpaying. I have had that one since I was around 8 years old. I am guessing it would be worth more as firewood. I just keep it around as a joke.

I play w/an older Scruggs 58 in. 4pt 4veneer ebony points w/ivory hoppe ring 19.3oz old Le Pro tips or triangle or anything not too soft.Just clean traditional great playing cue w/ two standard 13m.m. shafts w/ivory ferrules. p.s. It has seen a lot of action. "country" Bob

I play for money with a Predator P2 and OB-2 shaft, it is a precision instrument. Predator specs: 17.6 oz (light cue) 18.75 inch balance point, OB-2 11.75mm with Everest Tip. I have a Cognoscenti Ebony PJ that should be here any day now. I am assuming that is going to be my money stick. :)

Playing cues

If I had to mention one cue that is my main player, and the cue I have the most confidence with, it would be a 4-point 4-veneer, Jensen with a radial pin, ivory ferrules, and Triangle tips.
19.5 OZ, and the shaft I use now was made by Jerry -R-. 13MM, with Jerry's long pro-taper.
The original shafts play very good, but I like the matching Rauenzahn shaft better.

Last week I changed up to a 5-point snake wood James White cue with flame veneers, and a 5/16-14 piloted ivory joint, same specs, but the tips that came on the cue look like Moori.

I agree with Tony / BENFICA about Dave Kikel.
I may throw my BEM Kikel cue into the rotation, along with an 8-point Judd Fuller.

My spec preference are cues that weigh between 19.2-19.8 oz., 58" long, and shafts no bigger than 13MM or smaller than 12.80MM, ivory ferrules, and a tip that isn't too hard.
The joint system doesn't matter that much to me, but James White's piloted ivory joint seems to be my favorite.

My Josswest

My daily player is my Josswest. It isnt the best cue I own, it isnt the best playing cue I have ever played with.

It frankly is the lowest priced cue I have in the bunch....I bought the little cue from Troy at KIDKOIN, and frankly fell in love the the SOB.

It is a better cue than I am player....probably true with a house cue too.

LOL

Ken

nothing seems to be able to replace my carmeli...and yet i've hit with other carmelis and they werent as nice as mine. maybe i'm biased.

i'm hoping my new cue that will be here in a month or two will become my new player. never hit with a cue by that maker before but i have heard very good things so it's looking very promising.
