my 2 cents regarding JIMBO's Forum and ME

Now interesting enough you guys referenced this particular thread on that forum and it's ridiculing my drinking habits as well as indicating mine and Mr VArney's identity could be one of the same !!!!
Now I find this quite humurous and do NOT take offense....
Obviously I drink !!! so what.... that does NOT make me an alcoholic, nor does that interfere with the production and quality of my work !
And the VArney attack was becasue I chose to assist in trying to obtain in some type of positve feedback and updated info concerning the Varney thread and help out both parties involved !!!
As I said before and I see I'm not alone regarding Jimbo's forum... it's basically a play ground for kids and is NOT for the serious person for the MOST part.. simply becasue there are NO adults to supervise the kid's comments... so given that scenario and all that it entails, you have to view it for what it is and nothing more..... "a chaotic playground with no rules"
I don't mean to self-impose on this thread but that forum is a great example of counter-productiveness at it's best !

But you take a word like 'JimBo'... its two syllables and it flows from one right into the other. Now, if you want to mock someone for their lack of creativity or intelligence, it would seem appropriate that a suitable replacement for the word 'JimBo' would also have two syllables and the same flow.
While 'limp ho' is two syllables, the flow is not the same. There is a pause between the two syllables as the one word has now been made into two words. And furthermore, the term 'limp ho' in no way relates to an argument about the intelligence of an individual.
Now if he were to say 'BimBo', perhaps I would chuckle a little.

Not that I get into it with anyone really...anywhere....but I do need to be more tactful here.
As to the whole 'JimBoArmy' thing....if memory serves, it was actually some AZer's that came up with that name for those who were unhappy about JimBo's banning here. Instead of taking offense by it, It was deemed more tongue-in-cheek to just run with the name was that given by AZer's. As I recall, the move from IPM was made rather quickly, and a server was provided by a certain individual who I shall leave nameless....as it doesn't really matter. Since it was so hasty, the forum was just given the name JimBoArmy. There was a thread started rather immediately if those members wished to call the forum something else...as it turns out, apparently the majority chose to keep the name.
As to JimBo himself....I will say this.....since his leaving, there have been a few others that have managed to fill in the void as to to their ability to offend...on so many different levels. Some have even surpassed JimBo's ability to raise a ruckus. Some of his posts even look tame in contrast to some of the flame fests here as of late.
As to the 'bashing' between both sites....it's seems to be pretty evenly dispersed between the two, given the ratio of members between both sites. I know it is certainly not my focus between the two sites....and I tend to shy away from those types of posts...in both places.
It really doesn't matter what you think of JimBo...the bottom line for me is what he brings to the table. He can get often reclusive top tier cue makers to come on and have true discussions, and sharing of ideas and opinions. Some of these same cue makers who will not, or will no longer post here anymore because they felt like they had a bullseye painted on their chests. Say what you will about him....but he is extremely well liked within the industry...he has been a great supporter of not only the game, but the cue makers that so many of you dream to own cues from.
Do I worship him.....no. Do I have respect for him....yes. Does he say things to get a rise.....absolutely. Does it work most of the time for getting a lively exchange of ideas going...you bethcha.
I will continue to post where I wish to post...here and there....anywhere I feel I have something to offer. And I will continue to read at both sites, because ultimately, I am but a sponge soaking up as much information about this game, and the tools by which we play it.

to the threadstarter, thanks for bringing this topic up. I guess by now everytime that there is a mention of Jimbo, nothing comes positive out of it. just look at it now. some anti Jimbo and Jimbo sympathizers are at it again. though I had nothing against Jimbo, if his mere mention creates turmoil, it ain't good. so that makes him the devil. no pun intended. but that's what's happening. both opposing parties should give it a rest by now. to the sympathizers, it doesn't give Jimbo any good, no matter how you defend him. cowdungs will only be thrown back and forth. do you guys love a stinky environment?

Nobody's arm is being twisted to post or not post at either forum - and at least everybody (to include The Woim) is welcome over there.
