I don't believe these articles I listed were charity events but I know they have participated in other things where they partner with Poison/Predator to raise money for breast Cancer.

Another exciting thing is I believe they will be holding 2 more locations for this Predator 10-ball event that was held this past week in Vegas. I don't know if anything is set in stone yet but there is talk of events in Portugal and Spain later this year!

Despite what anyone's personal opinion is of Charlie Williams (I'm not disputing any of the allegations against him, I have no opinion on that), I have had nothing but positive experiences with both Charlie and Dragon Promotions (and everyone associated with Dragon Promotions for that matter).

True, I'm not saying something like that is okay. I'm just saying, the threads about that happened way before I became a member on this forum, I have never had a negative experience with CW and will reserve judgement on him until or unless I do have a bad experience with him.

There are plenty of creepy and underhanded things that I have experienced since being involved in the pool world, but none have ever been with CW, DP or anyone else associated with DP.

I have to agree with Jay & Lenny that they have put on a consistently good tournament and that it seems to be very well run (I do not have any first hand experience with them). The only beef I had as a spectator was that this year they doubled the entry fee fro $10 to $20 for a 3 hour session. When you are in Vegas for ten days, that gets expensive... Maybe I am a nit but a 100% raise kind of sucks.

I do agree that anyone who supports pool and runs an organized tour is good for the sport.

I agree, this is all hearsay. Ive met CW many occassions and I can say he is an impressive young man.
If the Marissa thing really happened like it did,why doesnt she just goto authorities, get the hotel tape, etc instead of coming here to bash his name. sounds like a disgruntled employee or something. doesnt make sense.

After my post asking "wtf happened exactly" I got a couple of PMs.

I can see why people are reluctant to post details. What charlie is alleged to have done is very very creepy. I had incorrectly assumed he just got drunk and made a pass at someone but it's much weirder than that.

I use the word 'alleged' here to avoid legal problems... not because I'm skeptical about whether or not it happened. So far I don't have anyone saying "it definitely never happened, it's all made up" and more than one person saying "this really happened and the guy's a creep".

Anyway, no sense is being coy about it anymore, here's what he's (allegedly) done on at least one occasion, possibly 3 or more: He'd tell a female pro he has room for her as part of the motel package. He gives her a keycard. What she doesn't know is he also has his own copy of that keycard. Then in the middle of the night he'd go into her room, undress, and lay down next to her. Again, is just stuff I've heard. I have never met anyone involved personally. If it's true, he's doing this repeatedly and with plenty of planning, which makes it extremely freaky.

All I can say is... charlie is clearly good for pool, but he could also end up giving it a huge black with a scandal if he doesn't get a handle on this.

Personally I'm calling BS on this one. IF he really tried this I think there would be police involvement. Me thinks there were some problems between the two and lies were told just to cause him to look bad. From what I know NEITHER are angels.

I don't mind if someone wants to say "hey this could all be a bunch of lies and hearsay, let's give him the doubt". I wasn't there and I don't know the people involved, so I guess that's fair to say (though the ones I've talked to seem sincere when they insist it really happened ...more than once).

But it kind of pisses me off to hear "well, nobody's perfect, so even if he did something, let's give him credit for being good for pool".

"Nobody's perfect" is the kind of thing you say when you catch your neighbor getting drunk and pissing in the rosebushes.

"Nobody's perfect" is not the right way of looking at someone who has broken into a woman's room in the middle of the night and crawled naked into bed next to her... while dead sober and with plenty of planning ahead of time. That's a half step away from sexual assault. And from what I've understood it's happened more than once. That's fυcking creepy.

Again, no guarantee it really happened that way, but if it did... I don't care how good he is for pool, there is no way he gets a pass for it.

As for the whole "how come he isn't in jail" question... it's already been said that she tried to get the police but they couldn't do anything due to jurisdictional issues. Or maybe they could but nothing could happen until she got back home, at which point she may not have wanted to go through with the hassle and embarrassment of it. Food for thought: over 50% of rapes go unreported. Not saying he raped anyone, but we're looking at the same problem: As guys, we might never understand why a woman would choose not to report something like this, but it happens a lot and it's insensitive to blame the victim.

-Add up all the entry fee's of a 112 player field and see how much money there really adding.

- You pay such a high entry fee and later on in the tournament they lower the races to 7 and 8. Thats total BS right there, even if it's for T.V that's not fair to the players. You get that far into the tournament only to be told that the races are shorter and luck comes into play even more.

-You come 3/4 and only get $5000.00. Was told this from Alex P himself. Pretty crap if you ask me.

-I also don't think the promoter (Charlie Williams) should be allowed to play. Just doesn't look right to me.

It seems to me that your problems with DP isn't really problems, but things where you have different opinions. Neither of the 4 reasons you mentioned below should qualify red rep. I believe that is what the thread starter were asking about.

Still, I have to agree with you that I would prefer the races to be atleast 9 in the semi and final too. However, I do understand how ESPN feel about it, and if they are paying to show those 3 matches I can understand if they demand races that they know works for their audience.

The pricemoney are listed on their website, and everyone knew about it before they registered for the event. If Alex P. is surprised that he "only" got 5k for 3rd, then he hasn't done his homework.

For others who won't care to figure out what the added money are:
1st - 20,000
2nd - 10,000
3rd - 5,000
5th - 3,000
9th - 2,000
17th - 1,050

+ 1,000 and 500 for top 2 female players.

Total pricemoney = $ 87,350

Entryfee $ 700 = $ 78,400

Added to pricefund = $ 8,950

The rep IS used improperly as a competition by many, but it is a nice way to tell someone something nice about something they posted or something they did to contribute to pool in general.

Most of the people with ALL red deserve it. I will refrain from any further bashing of CW on the request of a friend who asked to cut him some slack because of his contribution to pool. If he pulls any more shenanigans, I WILL be in the front of the line though.
