Ok Fred, listen. I just felt that what you said was out of context, especially for you. I've never seen you respond like that, especially to someone who doesn't make comments like this to anyone else on these forums. I am far from thin-skinned, and if you read my post, I have never been to the RSB forums, so I have no idea how he posts there.
I've seen some of his trick shots and read some articles on his website here and there, that's all. Just because he's a lunatic with his posts, doesn't mean I can't like what he does with a cueball. And as far as the "coming at you" statement I made, I was just saying that I was caught off guard the way you replied at my question.
All I know is I wouldn't have responded that way to you or anyone, reguardless of how light you thought it may have been. Your one of the coolest cats on the fourms Fred, I was just suprised by your response, that's all.

I remember when FL was banned not once but twice on this forum. There were people here who claimed this wasn't "American" that this is the land of the free, etc. It just cracks me up that FL is laying waste somewhere else and I hope that the people here that were giving Mike such a hard time for banning him are finally able to understand just what a good decision Mike made.
I am happy to be an active member of AZ because Mike does such a good job of keeping people like FL off of it. Some here think that it is boring because we don't have some of the more contentious people here anymore. Well, my answer to that is that I don't mind a forum that is a little less contentious and has some genuine pool info on it. After all, if I want to go somewhere that is full of contentious crap, the internet is full of sites like that.

Okay, I listened. Thanks for the explanation. I think that if FL never came onto the internet, everyone who met him would probably praise all of the positive things he does in his show and for pool in general. Unfortunately, he did join the internet, and now many of us can only think of him in that light.shoutout33 said:

Many people do not understand that those of us that spent years contributing to RSB are very upset at Larry's childishness. Without giving him more attention than he deserves, I would like provide a link that has archived some very good posts that were made to RSB during what is known as the "Golden Age"... this is an example of what the RSB posters were treated to on a daily basis at one time. Were there problems back then? Of course, but nothing like what goes on in many of the forums today. I have always looked at my participation in the forums as a responsibility to provide not only my insight, but respect the opinions of others while at the same time trying to do what I do best, which is teach the game of pool. Over the years I have failed at that from time to time, but not so much where I would be embarrassed at my conduct (like some people that I know). Look at these articles at this link, and remember that the moderated forums of today are successful because of what RSB started long ago. There is a rich history, and many positive memories, and fine people that have participated over the years. Please don't allow one jack ass to form your opinion of RSB. RSB is more than just FL.

Shoutout: when it comes to talking about FL people get worked up..... i didn't take his post on being too brutal on you..he was trying to make a point to you and any others that may not have known the whole story about FL.........when i first came to this forum over 2 years ago i had been away from pool A long long time...i was starved for any and all new knowledge and gossip...i had seen FL's advertisment and remembered him from the so called ole days of being a real good player.......i checked into getting lessons from him....i was prepared to spend ALOT of money......round trip plane fare, motel,food and lessons for 1 whole week..........a few thousand dollars............then i started reading some of his terrible posts ..his rantings and ravings ........i don't care IF a person is disliked by others for a certain reason BUT after thouroughly watching his posts ..they were way over the top..............why would i OR ANYONE ELSE want to be schooled by this goof ball......he is supposedly trying to run a business..but i just cannot see why anyone would want to buy from him after all of this...he is a very talented ADULT pool player that has tarnished his own reputation....he has no one to blame But himself..........so i would like to thank EVERYONE past and present who has ever posted about FL for making me aware of him....if people on this board don't occasonally talk about him then others won't get the mesage about him........i hope others will take your advise also.......shoutout33 said:

I didn't get there for the "Golden Age". I was newsgroup aware, but was too busy raising kids and only played pool maybe 2 or 3 times a year. About 5 or 6 years ago time freed up as my kids got older and being a programmer during the internet boom money freed up for awhile (I make about 30k less now than then) so I got into pool more seriously. RSB may have been out of it's "golden age", but it was still a "gold mine" full of great pool information and, yeah, characters. I don't know if it was superior to AZB and CCB at that time as I didn't really need to check either, but I'm certain it wasn't inferior to either. I miss the old RSB and hold out undying hope that it will return.

You guys just wait until his new line of instructional dvds come out and then you'll all be begging him to give you lessons. I can't believe a man of his skills and knowledge wasn't invited to the IPT.
Just kidding. If there is an RSB vs AZ fight, I'll take him on. After watching him do his martial arts routine on a pool table (stands on rail, waves hands around, looks like a complete idiot...) I'm pretty sure I can take him out.
