What is this....ABIA: American Billiard Installers Association

I get this email, which was sent to multiple people, going over this "association" no where does it say who they are or who this guy sending the emails really is. Does anyone know Tommy Jenkins?

www.abiainstallers.com

Chris,

I just did a search on goggle for this "association" with NO MATCHING RESULTS! This smells very fishy to me. Tom Jenkins does NOT ring a bell with anyone I know in the billiards industry.

What's funny, is that there is NO support what-so-ever from any cloth/table manufacture in the industry on that website....I wonder why?

well it seems from the start date that they have just begun and probably only wanted to get something up quick for their webpage. More than likely adding advertising later$$$. They probably also compiled data from the sticky and many other forums etc. I have little doubt that cloth manufacturers wouldn't want to be on there if it takes off. This may turn out like mens pro pool tourneys. Having various organizations to promote pool mechs. Of course their end goal is only to make money from guys and not to really to promote mechs earning a tech status IMO.

Wonder where they got all the email addresses from?
Ron

They got them from craigslist, I'm betting everyone that got it has an add on there. This is about as real as the Nigerian lottery I win a couple times a month. Wonder how Beck's feels about the made up association competition though. Maybe the ABIA and the CBMA could merge lol

I remember a little while back when I called Beck's billiards and talked to them about tightening up some pockets on a GC...they had NO idea what they were talking about, saying you can only double or triple shim the pockets to tighten them, and if the factory cut the angles wrong...that couldn't be changed either...LOL

Both of these must be great associations:rolleyes:

Must have 4 years experience....no wonder they are calling it INSTALLERS and not anything higher up the food chain.
At least they aren't advertising for assemblers I guess.....
And I can pronounce and spell the names affiliated with the site....lmao

I just contacted them and asked for referrals to someone who can straighten warped slate on an antique brunswick and tighten pockets up.
Let's see where that goes:rolleyes:
