I thought this might a an interesting poll. Vote for your favorite style of cue. I am not pigeon holing any of these cuemakers to a certain category, so please don't flame me for that. When you are considering one of these categories, think about the makers I have listed and how some of their cues fit into that category. That will help you visualize the cues that would fit into each style.

I do know what category I'm betting on!

I actually consider the first 2 groups in the same category. For the most part doing traditional cues with maybe some added pizazz but then i have seen a Balabuska that if you didn't know you would swear it was made by one of the guys in the second group.
Tough to separate the first from the second.
I am interested what the outcome will be though.
Good thread.

Titlists Conversion Cues are kind of cool.

I had a hard time deciding between the ultra traditional and the modern
traditional, then I thought about the Showman that Joe Salzar had at the
Derby. Yep that one swung my vote.

I think there may be a distinction without a difference between Traditional and modern traditional
I think what the poll shows is that people prefer Hoppe style, and traditional style Balabushke,Szamboti designs onver anything else by a wide margin

I just like cues, period, but the first two categories are my favorites. I do like some of the stuff being done that is unique or different. About the only thing I just don't care for generally are storybook cues and floating points.

Ultra traditional is my choice, judging from the three I currently have in my case...

I voted modern traditional. I absolutely LOVE Titlist conversions but breaking out of the norm but not too flashy is modern traditional to me. I love looking at ALL cues of any style, plain jane to ornate. Great thread!!!!

Had to go with #2 for myself. I love the traditional things w/ just a "twist".

All the Show Cues and Modern Artistic cues are gone from my collection.
It is safe to say that I tend to select cues from both the Ultra Traditional and Modern Traditional these days.
I guess I prefer just Traditional Cues (both Ultra and Modern).

Great Poll!
But I cannot pick between the two traditional choices!

Great poll idea here, Jamie. I'm sure you've heard this too, but I've had a few very renown cuemakers comment to me something to the effect of "why make traditional style pointed cues." Well, it seems that's what the majority of people prefers stylistically. Seeing these results so far.....wow, there's blood in the streets !!

Modern artistic please. Sugartrees fall into this category for me, and sugartrees have drawn my attention more than any other cues out there. I haven't liked every single ST I've seen, but the ones that I like, I REALLY like.

I remember Bill Stroud's post not too long ago that so many cue lovers only prefer 'traditional' cues because the cuemakers don't strive for more artistically.

I say this thread kinda proves otherwise.
