What level am i at?

Ok well you have got it completely wrong but appreciate your response and I do understand where you are coming from.

I think my post where i explained that me beating the 13 ball ghost (much less often then i lose might i add) is suggesting I am a better player than i am due to the reasons i explained previously.

I am very surprised if im honest at how big a task it is being made out to be to beat the ghost because i know these things as FACT:

1. I have beaten (not regular but have beaten) the 13 ball ghost
2. I have been beaten by A LOT of players who i simply was not in there class.

I think rather than suggest I am some poser or liar I think you should consider it is the case that you are underestimating the top players and that they could beat the 13 ball and probably 14 ball ghost a lot more often than you think.

If i am 100% honest yes I know i can play but no this was not a pat me on the back attempt it was a player who feels they are under performing, not reaching their potential and wanting to know what others (experts) deemed my potential was if I could sort out the mental side of my game.

If that is a crime i apologise.

Just going by what you have stated, get out more and play others. That will help your mental game more than anything you read. The best attitude to have when playing is to play like you practice. Don't worry about what others think about your game. Worry about perfecting your game. Let the chips fall where they will, and go from there to improve.

Assuming you really are beating the 13 ball ghost even some of the time, that only rates your offense. How's your defense? At the higher levels, that is a very important part of the game. And that also determines what your rating is.

No offense, but you are not making your story more believable by qualifying it now. You should just grab your smart phone, go to the pool hall and post an unedited video from TODAY showing you play the 13-ball ghost. Just the one race and we'll all give you the credit due.

It's not that we're suggesting you are a poser, but you've given us nothing to PROVE you aren't. It's the internet. You could be a 10-year old with the internet having a good time. I'm inherently skeptical of things that seem far fetched. It's 2013. There's smartphones, cameras, tablets, etc. etc. We have Youtube, Vimeo, Facebook, etc. etc. Post a video. Discussion will be closed. If you can't/won't, we'll always be skeptical. It's a sad reality (and commentary) on the way the internets can work sometimes...

Honestly, if he is a threat to beat the 13 ball ghost, he should be able to flat out shoot his way through anyone short of a stone cold world class player.

We either A) have heard of this guy before and he's just taking an ego boost, B) is not being quite honest with his ability, or C) is the best unknown player in the world outside of Taiwan and the PI.

Thanks Neil, sounds like good advice, it is frustrating as the mental side of the game is massive!

My defense is is no where near as strong as my offense. I dont jump very well and often dont put enough thought into my safeties

I honestly think some of you guys do not know as much as yo uthink about pool if you think someone who can occasionally beat the 13 ball ghost is one of the best players in the world!!

Totally laughable!

When i next get a chance though i will record a video so you are happy.

I understand some people might just make stuff up but that is 100% not my style, i have a life i am not that sad and pathetic.

If you need video proof of everything you post on here i guess i wont be on as much as i hoped.

You are shooting these 13 balls out in order right? :)

I really do hope you are being honest. Would love to see the video.

Haha yeah in order.

I am being honest and ill get a video asap but it wasnyt about trying to show off.

Often you are playing 10 ball or 11 ball after the break or sometimes even 8 or 9!

I do think it is laughable that a lot of you guys seem to think that occasionally beating the 13 ball ghost makes me a world class player.

Totally crazy, the top players will be able to beat the 14 ball cost at least 50% I would have thought

I presume you're British. Almost all on here are not, and are in a permanent state of confusion over what constitutes a straight cue action.

Give them time. One must be patient.

There are youtube vids of ronnie alcano and orcullo playing 10b ghost race to 15. ronnie went hill-hill and won. Dennis did a few games better.

Sorry but I'm buying the OP story either.

didn't Scott Frost win some $$$$$ playing the 10ball ghost WITHOUT ball in hand after the break? He's no where near Dennis' speed playing 10 ball. I should qualify that; I doubt he'd like to put up very much of his own money playing Dennis EVEN 10 ball.

As soon as I figure a way to beat the 2 ball ghost with ball in hand after the break, my video is certainly going up on AZ. Till then though, no video's of the 1 ball ghost MASTER!!

Given enough time it has indeed become clear.

Coco 9 is yet another BS incarnation of your trolling imagination.

Of course he's British. All your identities are!

Scott beat the 10 ball ghost on a random bar table 21-7,no idea if there was anything riding on it...cause that's irrelevant really. We all know how strong it is...and how much stronger of a player adds 3 more balls to the rack which HAS TO cause nasty, practically impossible layouts.

Alex beating the 10-ghost with respots when he was ALL IN for like 10k is the stuff legends are made of.

I'm convinced I've got that clocked right, back a few years ago when Gabe Owen let strangers BACK the 13-ghost he robbed people. But who in the HELL wanted to play him themselves?

That's my point, that level of pure offense even without ball in band could go into damn near any poolroom in the country and tell people to COME GET IT...and walk out with every available dollar. Even the best amateur players in America that gamble would be getting ROLLED by a guy that didn't even have to play safe unless it suited him.

I GUARANTEE that's what I'd be doing . Tommy D.

Thanks for the genuine replies, some good points and observations!

Sorry to the folk that think this is all bs etc, I was a bit surpruised by some of the responses as it was a genuine "how good could/should my A game be" question.

If that is right that Gabe Owen basically robbed the 13 ball ghost I think some peoples opinions on how top pro's only occassionly would beat it is wrong. Gabe is/was a great player but not right at the top.

I do think playing the ghost allows you to get into a rhythm and 'in stroke' that you dont get the chance to agaisnt real opponents and is therefore misguiding.

As mentioned next time I am playing I will record some and stick it on.

Cheers

If you're giving a serious challenge to the 13-ball Ghost, then I assume you play pretty much every day. Any video of you shooting will do. Don't wait to upload one of you beating the13-ball Ghost. Put up one playing the 9-ball Ghost. That will shut people up and give an indication of your level.

Freddie <~~~ picking out the posters a video would shut up
