I would have to say Ohio and it has nothing to do with me living in Ohio. Oh wait, maybe it does.

IL - Ike Runnels, Justin Bergman, Marco Marquez, Santos Sambajon, James Baraks, Jesse Bowman, Jamie Baraks
-Negative ghostrider...Tony Ellin was from Miami, Fl. Moved to Georgia, then the Carolinas...which makes him a Floriganian
-Not so fast, Voodoo, my friend. Tony Ellin was from Charleston, SC. He was here quite a bit when him and Johnny were tight and Johnny married a girl from here (twice). He told me so, anyway. But, knowing Tony, you might have to check the birth certificate.
Lemme straighten you GURU's out...
Tony Ellin is from...New Jersey.
Eric >TK from FLA was too

JV
I once saw Dennis Spears make Earl quit in the middle of a match. He can downright play. He IS NOT a ball under the top guys in my black book.Joe, I was only listing the stone cold champions.
Teddy G and Mary Kenn moved to Vegas.
There are a LOT of shortstops/ball under top player types around here:
Ken da farmer, Mike Sica, Dennis Spears, Steve Lillis, Joey Kong, Joey Testa, CArlos Santos, Carm Lombardo...
P.S.- the guy that posted that Miz was from somewhere else?! Miz was from Jersey
Eric >thought everyone knew Miz was from Joysee

Not that I keep a black book.
Me thinks you might have stuttered a little on Mr. Baraks, although 2 of him would be better than one.........![]()
The way I heard it, from a reliable source -- :grin-square: -- the East Coast couldn't beat the West Coast, especially the player(s) from California. So they changed the rules from two-shot/push-out to what they are today, turning pool into a luck game, so they could start booking a few winners.
Before then, again, according to my source, the California player(s) gave the world the 8. :nanner:

Thats because there isn't nothing else to do, or unless your a bowler. lol
CJ WILEY is from Missouri. Remember, the title of this thread is which state has PRODUCED the most high caliber players - not where they live now.
And Jamie Baraks is a great player, but I don't think it is fair if you put him on your list for Illinois twice.
I would add Balukis to the NY list as she could play with the men.
Is this an all-time list? Then I'd have top go with New York, we haven't produced much in recent times but there's a great past here. There's Mike Sigel, Irving Crane, Babe Cranfield, Cisero Murphy, Joe Balsis, Gene Nagy, Johnny Ervolino, Michael Eufemia, Jeanette Lee, George "Ginky" SanSouci, Tony Robles, George Mikula...I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple here.
There's 6 world champions on that list, and all except two have won major events. There are also 8 players on the list with high runs in 14.1 of over 300 balls (two of them over 400 balls).
P.S. I forgot Dennis Hatch!
P.P.S. Johnny Irish Lineen - although I'm not sure if he was actually raised in New York.

However, he's rather be drinking from this mug!
You know, I have one of these mugs in my basement. It's not pink, though. Mine is white. I wonder if they're worth anything!
