Just wondering where ppl might get their new tips and ferrules installed? A custom cue maker? Do it yourself? The cue manufacturer? I live in small town in Washington (wenatchee) looking for someone in the Spokane or seattle area or just a good place to send my shaft for a new tip and ferrule

here ya go friend

I'd send your work to Jim Baxter, or the dog- manwon. Both do greatwork and prices will be more than fair. Mark Just look up in the community section.

You can ship to me in California for solid work, honest communication, a fair price, and quick turnaround. Just PM me if you are interested. All Tiger and Kamui Tips in stock.

Well, you can call Black Diamonds (509 891 8357) in Spokane to see if they do it or recommend someone that is near buy. Then you can play some their because it looks like a great place to play and have heard nothing but great things about it. It is three hours away, but you wouldnt have to travel through the pass.

Or you can call the Golden Fleece (425 908-7332) in Kenmore and see if they do that or recommend someone that you could have it done with and then hang out their for the day shooting on some nice Diamonds. Nice place and friendly environment, very welcoming to non local players, and you probably get to see some good matchups while your their.

Good Luck and hope this helps.

I have no idea if Black Diamonds does this type of work, but I can say it is a very nice place to play.

Richard Penny in Florida will do a good job, but you will have to take a vacation or mail it. Ryan from RAT cues has a good rep. I had Brent from BHQ make me a cue and I have one of his I bought used, great job. HAd a Steve Klapp cue is in Iowa or Illinois, also good work. I also have a sugartree but I am not sure he does tips and ferrules. The tip you may be able to do yourself if you have a steady hand. The ferrule, find somebody whose work you have seen. A couple of local people had the ferrule on their
LD shafts melt due to the use of the wrong adhesive.

I'm lucky, I live right above the Tricky Moon Billiard Repair Shop.

Some dick head, I don't even know his name, repairs my cues.

On the other hand, you can't go wrong with either Jimmy B or Craig, (Manwon). If you go to Jim's shop in person, you'll probably have to listen to his jokes all afternoon.

I retip my own cues and have for over 25 years. When I was coming up, re-tipping and minor repair work was part of learning to play the game.

It doesn't require a lot of equipment to retip your own cues and do a great job but you will want to practice on a few house cues till you get the hang of it.

I retip my own cues... I'm 30 and have been playing since around 8-9yrs old. I am a firm believer that it's important to know how to take care and maintain your equipment. I use a cue lathe to make the process quick and easy, not to mention it provides a professional finish when you're done changing tips or cleaning your shaft.

If yu don't know what you're doing tho, I highly suggest buying a $15-20 house cue and practice on that with cheap tips as well until you become more comfortable with your high dollar cues. Also, YouTube is a huge help with hands on videos to assist you... Hope this helps out, good luck.

I'm looking for the same service in the Corvallis,Oregon area.

I'm wanting into learn how to re-tip my own cues also but don't want to flub a $15 tip. What simple tools are needed?

I have re-tipped my beater stick a few times in the past but my newer OB-2 shaft with the laminated wooden ferrel has me apprehensive.

I just hate being dependent on getting my tips changed here in the Washington DC area. People are hard to get a hold of, dying, and when you do it takes too long - I want INSTANT GRATIFICATION.

So I am currently ordering a Willard Tip Machine. It comes with a CD on how to change tips. Best cheap machine in the market I have been told. It doesn't have a motor so you won't be able to burn your layered tips I reckon .

Hey Mike

Do you have one of Mike Yinglings' cues? If yes, bring it by my shop, I would like to look at some of his work. I have made complete cues, but my main lathe is still in Oregon, but, I would like to see the level and execution that Mikes' cues are at. I asked one other player that has one of Mikes cues and i asked him his price range and it seemed very reasonable.

Get with me,
