Where is John....?...Barton.....?

The Kids

lol I love John Barton and he is very smart...no doubting that. If you think for one second that that company is doing anything out of the hearts then you are not very smart...

It's all PR and, they sent you table scraps. The minimum amout to buy you is how they probably decided how much to send. Remember I was in on their meetings. I feel like I am being a good person by warning everyone to not deal with these guys.

You are cheap advertisment to them nothing else. the kids are just future cheap advertisment.

My character is one of honesty, and loyalty you are right maybe I should forgive them...It is very hard to the last three times I gave them my forgivness they lied and stole from me again.

This is not the public BTW their is like 200,000 people on here and probably this thread will get 100 different viewers...lol lol they may click it 5 times a piece to equal 500 hits and that is only because the thread is turning negative thanks to me...lol

Notice how I have not wrote in any other threads about how great stealyings(sterling) is... you have started 10 in the last few days. all that work is why they sent you 500 dollars worth of chinese goods...to them its about 50 dollars...lol you are now their PR minister of propaganda and you went for less than 100 dollars.lol

They are smart that is how they are slaving you for peanuts...and you think they care...lol

I gave a couple of cheap Players cues to a rehab center when a friend was there and she told me that's all they talked about.

I have no idea what this is all about, China, propaganda, whatever, but someone made an effort.
The value, country of origin, Buy America, AARA, NAFTA, FAR Trade Agreement or even the Camp David Accord doesn't really apply.

Jamison,

Let's assume that Sterling's motivation was for PR, a proposition I can believe of any business and any businessman. Does it really matter, some kids will get the use of some badly needed equipment. Probably not the best equipment in the world, but probably much better than they had. So what's the beef?

BTW, I don't know enough to comment Sterling's motivation as a company, but I know JB well enough, despite our differences on a certain issue, to feel pretty certain that his motivation was simply to do a good thing for the kids.

Give the guy a break and some credit for a good deed.

Another Steve.

Well said Steve
It's good to know that about Sterling Gaming

Cowbody will have these kids buying up Szamboti's by the time they hit 16...

We can joke about this, but the bottom line is, I first played Pool at the Boys Club in Miami, Florida in 1954 GREAT MEMORY.

These Kids are the Future of Pool. Boy & Girls Clubs keep kids out of trouble, and a membership in the Boy & Girls Clubs is cheaper then a Criminal Defense Attorneys Hourly Rate. Many of the Boy & Girls Clubs programs like pool only survive on donations.

We the Members of AZB if we want to SUPPORT POOL, the Boys, and Girls Club, YMCA, City Recreation Centers where Kids play pool is a great place to start support the Future of Pool.

Great job Cowboy, and many thanks to Sterling Billiards and Mr. Baton for helping you out with your project.

Take care

BTW a Little Bird told me Manwon is doing the same in his community, supporting youth Pool programs.

your right, I agree i didnt look for anything positive here.
Who cares why they did it they did it and some kids will be happy that is all that matters. I hope you guys can forgive me for ambushing this thread...it was a positive thing before I got here, again forgive me for being a "dick"

:o

I don't care what Mr. Barton or Sterlings motivation was. Thay did something nice that they did not have to do in these tough economic times.
I have not read all the replies to this thread but has any other company stepped up?

Props to John Barton And Sterling.

Who cares if it is for PR....its for the kids, thats all that matters to me... J is pathetic for saying stuff like this in a thread where it has no buisiness....

I got an e-mail from John Barton he asked me to post this for him

Sterling Gaming donates a lot of equipment to various groups around the world that is not publicized.* Groups such as the Firefighters Fund in New York City,* A rehab center in Hawaii, all sorts of "billards for charity" type events, we have donated equipment to a Marine unit serving in Iraq to get their table back in shape and give them cues and supplies to play with.* We have donated to help private families gather funds to ease personal tragedy.* In the vast majority of these acts we do not advertise this on forums or any other media.

We did not ask Bruce for publicity here but I would be foolish to say that we are not grateful for it.* Thank you Bruce for bringing it to our collective attention that you could use the help.* Hopefully the fact that we donated something and that so many others have also donated something will inspire more companies and individuals to invest in our sport where it needs it most.

I also was introduced to pool at the N. Lauderdale Boys Club when I was 12 years old.* If there hadn't been decent equipment there then I am sure that I would not have been as fascinated with pool as I became.* In my teen years I played at many public recreation centers.* My family moved around a lot and public rec centers were the entertainment I could afford.* The equipment at a lot of them was dismal.* It wasn't until I started going to pool rooms that I found out that straight cues and chalk were normal things.

I really believe that the future of pool lies with first making the introduction to pool and then nurturing the relationship into a lifelong love affair.* If you stop and think about about why the "general public" isn't into pool it's because most of them were never introduced to it as anything but an unstructured activity to pass the time while waiting to do something else.* Kids learn the rules, the real rules to all other sports and those rules are pretty much the same everywhere.* But in pool they don't.* There is a table, bad equipment, no one knows the rules other than what has been passed on.* So to me the best thing companies can give is good equipment and rule books and the best thing individuals can give is their time.

Jayne Rowley Collins, my ex-wife, is one of those people who gave her time to foster and encourage pool at the junior level.* She worked tirelessly to train and bring a group of kids to Junior Nationals through the formation and administration of a junior league.* She brought instructors and pros such as David Matlock to teach, inspire and dazzle the kids (and adults).* There are others in this country who are doing similar things.* I say go out to the Boys and Girls clubs, YMCAs, local rec centers and do what you can to pass on your love of the game.* You don't have to be as active as Jayne or Bruce but if you have the time give some of it up and the personal returns will be enormous and the benefit to our sport will manifest itself with more kids growing up with some understanding of how beautiful it is to play perfect pool.

As to Jamison Neu's comments - he is one of the charities that we donated to in a larger and more personal way that didn't quite work out for him or us :-).* We would like to think that we helped him find a larger audience and we still advertise the relationship that we had with him in a positive light.* In this regard we are sure that anyone who reads about Jamison on the Fury Cues website would come away with a positive impression of him.* It is unfortunate that Jamison then destroys that image with the sort of comments he makes here which are defamatory, groundless and untrue at the least and classless and tasteless at best.

I would have much rather read that Jamison had taken his enormous talent to the local rec centers around the Charlotte area and donated his time to inspiring kids to take up pool.* Jamison is one of the few people on Earth who possess an almost magical ability to do things with pool balls that others of us can only dream about.* I feel that he would find some inner peace and also greater rewards personally and financially if he were to showcase those talents in a positive way.

Again, thank you to Bruce and all who donated as well to all who are helping to grow pool in this way.

Very well said, I posted in another thread that everyone who claims love this game - sport should step up and do something to help promote it in a positive light.
Everyone says they want pool to grow and yet most won't do anything to help it!
I for one would like to thank everyone who is making a difference by
giving up their time, money and products to move pool in the right direction.
There are too many kids from single parent families who need to be involved in something with a role model, or at least to know that the world is not always a bad place, that there are people still willing to help.

That makes you the only guy on AZ older than me

Your post is right on TARGET, sadly many of the people like League Operators, League Owners, and other who profit directly from pool give little back to the NEXT GENERATION of Pool Players.

I talked to one League operator here in the Valley of the Sun who I thought I had a re-pore with, mention to him it would be appreciated if he mention the needs of the Boys & Girls Club to his League players, and that if anything was donated for the Boys & Girls Club I would gladly come over, pick it up, provide the person a Donation Receipt.

Never heard from him. But I am getting stuff from people in the Philippines. Texas, Florida, North Carolina, NYC, NY State, and many place way far away from Phoenix?

Great job to all ,,,,,,,,!!!

Great to see the generous AZ'ers contributing to the cause of promoting pool,,,

Heck,,,,if everyone just sent out one cube of well needed chalk,,,,,what an awesome service that would be to the youth aspiring to learn and play,,,

Cowboy is doing one heck've a job !!!

Congrats Cowboy and Sterling Games.

I'm sure those kids are very happy, thanks to your efforts!

Way to go!

I wonder how much Jamison has donated to Boys and Girls clubs.

John Barton & Sterling Games/Cuesight, Omega Billiards, plus the people where I live who gave, and AZB MEMBERS who gave deserve all the CREDIT as they made it happen. I am just the guy with the idea, and the delivery boy....

The people in the Administrative Office at the Phoenix Metro Boys, and Girls Clubs can not believe the support they are getting for their clubs, but are very grateful as there clubs survive most on donations. They operate for the most part with small budgets, dedicated under paid staff, and donations.

Like I said before, and will say again on my first visit to the Peoria Club, I was shown around. I saw what they had, and did not have, and came up with the ideas of asking for help for the Phoenix Metro Boys, and Girls Clubs Pool Program. People from all over have been sending stuff.

P.S......Next time you need some Pool accessories please keep Sterling Games/Cuesight, Omega Billiards in mind as these two companies are giving back, and SUPPORTING POOL.

Bill Cosby... Michael Jordan... Brad Pitt... President Clinton... Jackie Joyner-Kersee... Martin Sheen... Queen Latifah... Neil Diamond... Denzel Washington. What do all of these people, and millions more throughout America, have in common?

They are all alumni of Boys & Girls Clubs.
