Where to buy a Pool table??

I'm interested in buying a new pool table for my basement. I've never owned a pool table before, only played in bars every once in a while, but definitely a newbie. I live in Central Jersey and there really isn't a brick and mortar pool shops anywhere within driving distance (that I or Google maps knows of), so I might need to purchase online. Does anyone recommend a good quality online vendor for pool tables? My only criteria is that it's a good solid table that will last a while and they delivery and set everything up. My budget is in the $2500 range. Any suggestions?

If you want a new to you table, I am sure one of the mechanics here can hook you up with a quality piece. Sit back and wait for the offers.

I was thinking the same thing. I am sure you can get a better deal then any of the online retailers.

What size table were you looking to get? If you want a 9 footer, I am sure you could probably find a nice used Gold Crown in your budget. That is the Brunswick table that you will find in many pool halls. The main difference between a new and used table is the price. Diamond makes a great table also, but it may be a little harder to find a table and set-up in your $2500 budget.

If you want a Valley bar table, which is likely what you found in the bars, you can definately get a used one at a good price.

I believe forum member Dave Sutton has a 9' Diamond for sale in Atlantic City, he may even deliver and set up.
 
IMO I would get a used Diamond or Gold Crown.

I have an Olhausen and its okay, but I regret not getting a 9' D or GC.

Be patient and you can make it happen.

You are right ,,there is nothing like a GC,,the ones in my place are from 1964 and still play awesome,,,

Sandcastle Billiards was also getting rid of a few tables,dont know if he has any left

I cannot set it up, but I could deliver a used goldcrown 4 for $2500
 
Buy from a forum member who can set it up or from local table mechanic. Do NOT go to a store. Buy from a guy.
