only pool players are dumb enough to keep returning to this tournament......
Well it's a pool tournament. If badminton players went, it would be awkward.

96.5% of the players who cashed got paid with no problem. Probably 75% of them never heard of AZB. They have no reason not to go. The "players in the know" are desperate and if holds another one, most of them will take a chance and go also .Again I am not a BB supporter but that's' the way i see it. If he wants it to continue, it will.
or 70%+/-, of the payout cashed by Net 30 - depending on how you look at it.

Pink, all of a sudden, do you think it will be, "One for all, and all for one"....
Don't touch that hot element on the stove....
unfortunately, this warning didn't happen for those who were affected.
And yet everyone will be back to play again next year. Hmm
I haven't played in the US OPEN the last few years, however, I will say this. I'd rather win the US OPEN in Virginia and not get paid than win any other tournament in the US and get paid.
Winning the US OPEN is something no one can ever take away.....money, on the other hand is here today, gone tomorrow, and no one can take it with them.
I still think players should be paid, however, the legal world is made up of settlements. We learned this in the gambling world, if I don't think someone can pay me I'll settle for 50% right away.....and maybe even less if necessary. That's why all gambling money should be put up by both players, or there will possibly be an issue at the end.

MIKE HOWERTON: "we're 4 mos past last year's Open, & the players are just now getting paid?"
BARRY: ".....we found out after almost 2 months, because they were overseas, & i am not going to throw Roberta or anybody under the bus, she IS my bookkeeper and i SHOULD have been reminded of this sooner, but....
i have been working my ass off to rebuild my business. and i've done a real good job: i've hired a consultant; i've hired a company that comes in & weighs all of your liquids once a week; i've hired a POS expert that disects my micros system & then she also checks on comps (?) voice & discounts. cause let's face it, you know, when given the opportunity there are many that will just take advantage of you or me. i have been working smarter.....and now business is booming, like unreal....and i can afford now to....a typical THU/FRI/SAT credit card batches used to be $8-$9K...and last weekend they were $17500; the weekend before that was $15500....
and that's just credit card sales from my little 72 tbl room....
it's insanely good. INSANELY GOOD!"

Really CJ. Easy to say when a person has a little set aside. How many. Yourself, Shane VB, maybe one other player. Just how prestigious is an event title when it is shrouded in the BS that the OPEN has been every year for many years. And, it just keeps getting worse. Betcha that Earl didn't feel that way when he ran 11 for a Million.
Winning the US OPEN is something no one can ever take away.....money, on the other hand is here today, gone tomorrow, and no one can take it with them.
Again, easy to say when you maybe don't have to rely on your tournament win to keep yourself going. What about players from Europe, China and Viet Nam that invest considerable more in travel expenses and then get stiffed. Take Nam, from Viet Nam. How much did he really net after airfare, accommodations and misc. He recently received $1500.00 out of $3000.00 He is still in the hole.

Well, I guess we can give you that much. Playing, and getting paid from Barry is more of a GAMBLE than betting it up and settling on a personal level on the side.
Other than that, what does gambling have to do with Barry paying his debts to players that have earned it by winning at the Open? Not much, right.
from ABR tonight
CJ, I can't believe as a player you said that. Johnnyt
Johnny, if I won the US OPEN I'd sell another 300,000 TOI DVDs, you should know that. LoL
I can see the golden arches now, with a sign that simply says: TOI - OVER ONE BILLION SERVED
'The TOI is the Teacher'![]()
