Who are The Hustlers?

Just finished watching it and enjoyed it. Having worked (an office job) in the entertainment industry, I can confirm it is all bs.

Another word for bs is show. It is built to entertain and real people make what they think is the best they can do with what they have to work with.

A fine effort. Congrats on the premiere, folks. It takes a lotta effort to get the show out there and we have been hoping for a pool show for a long time.

Dechaine spanks her 9 to 4 with her 3 on wire.

There is no fair game between them. Certainly not just a couple games. I'd ask she get the 7 out, all the breaks and a game going to 7. That's close.

2nd episode spoilers*****

Well the game making with Dechaine and the Irish dude seemed realistic. 1. They try to make a game and can't and the Irish guy loses his mind. 2. They make a game again and agree and said they'll play later 3. Come put up or shut up time dude backs out and wants more weight. 4. Said game never happens. Sounds like they captured pool pretty well to me.

For a set between the two of them to be fair (a set in which she actually had a chance to win), he'd have to give up the following spots:

- The game would be 10 ball with Jenn getting the 9 ball spot.
- Jenn would get all of the breaks.
- Jenn would have to get 4 games in a race to 10.
- Jenn would have to play by traditional 9 ball rules (luck counts) while Mike plays by traditional 10 ball rules (call every shot).

Alternatively, they could play an even match to 10 and he give her the following spots:

- The game would be 10 ball with Jenn getting the 9 ball spot.
- Jenn would get all of the breaks and the first shot after the break whether she drops a ball or not.
- Jenn would have to play by traditional 9 ball rules (luck counts) while Mike plays by traditional 10 ball rules (call every shot).

I'm sure that Mike would never agree to giving Jenn this much weight because he might actually have a chance of losing, although I would still favor him under these circumstances. He probably wouldn't giver her this much weight (especially on TV) because everyone would probably begin asking him for outrageous spots.

Spoilers, 5/22 s1e2

Greg negotiated on Jennifer's behalf. She trusted Greg, and he blew it. He underestimated Mike. At the end when Jenn complained, he threw it back in her face. :D

My feelings exactly. Johnnyt

LOL Mike would rob Jenn under either of your scenarios, big gap between their games.

LOL Mike would rob either game in your scenario.

She might win your first proposal. No way she wins the second, even with break and ball in hand.

I played her once in a short race. She can play. I just don't see her ever get into free stroke. Too regimented to allow it. Just not the way I think pool is played at its best. She's awesome for the game though.

I think with my spot she would have a chance. The 7 out, all the breaks and a game going to 7.*I'd play Mike with that and any other pro and I'm just a middle aged guy with a day job.
I think your spot heavily favors her. You're giving her 3 money balls (a third of the rack). All the breaks, which means she has a good chance of making the 7, 8 or 9 (unless the 7 out doesn't count on the break). With that spot, she wouldn't need a game in a race to 7 to be the favorite.

No wild money balls, I don't play that game. No 9 ball on break either since she's the only breaker. I should have clarified that.

Trust me she needs this game to have a chance to win. She's a AA player on a good day. If she doesn't get out or leave Mike lock safe she loses.

I give guys the 7 and all the breaks or the 78 and all breaks. If they aren't runout players I can fade it. Because every ball they makes leaves me easier. They don't get out...I'm shooting 4 to 6 balls and it's curtains.

Hey, overall, it was not bad. I'm sure it will pick up some more. I like the crazy Irish dude though, he made it interesting.

But, watching it, the entire time, I was hoping to hear, " Bring out the Earl", "but Earl's sleeping", "Well, I guess your gonna just have to wake him up now, won't you" with the Pulp Fiction music playing in the back ground

I mean, c'mon, Earl was MADE for reality TV. At some point, you'd have to be an idiot not to bring out the Earl.

That would be like filming American Idol at Graceland, and not bringing in Elvis for an appearance ;) (yeah, if he were alive, I'm trying to make a point here, stay with me)

I believe that Earl & Dennis H. are under contract with another reality show. Johnnyt

I can't wait till next weeks episode! It's just nice to have something pool related on TV.
