Who has the worst fundamentals?

He may not be anywhere near the level of a Mike Davis, as far as bad fundamentals, but another honorable mention should be awarded to Tommy Kennedy for his Hopkinesque chop stroke plus Tommy adds the jack-in-the-box, jump up out of his stance feature fairly often.

And no thank you, I don't care to play him a big money game. :D

Best,

thats an easy one Mike Davis and his sawing wood stroke are by far some of the worst fundamentals i have ever seen, but it seems to work ok for him

Took the words right off my keyboard ;).. He's a super nice guy though and certainly makes it work.. I'd not tangle with him for the cash and he wins plenty! Don't think there is a nice guy on the tour IMHO..

I don't think I have seen any pro move more on their shots than Tommy Kennedy, and his stroke is not much to look at either.

Keith is up there as well.

So far all the guys with bad strokes sounds like an All Star team! Mike Davis, Allen Hopkins, Bustamante, Ortmann, Keith, Tommy Kennedy. So much for good fundamentals!

Actually, Hopkins has near perfect fundamentals in terms of stance, plane alignment and aiming. His stroke is very short, but his fundamentals are superb.

I cant stand to watch Allen Hopkins and Norm Wines. I want to poke out my own eyes with a sharp stick after 10 minutes of sweating either one...

At last someone mention Bustamante. His stroke is a combination of Mika (locomotif) and McCready (side arm) :D

Keith has the worst if you look at his body, but if you look at the cue its perfect so Keith is off the list.

I still havent figured out Allan Hopkins even in slo-mo I just dont see how he does it.

Mike Davis would keep me broke forever, glad I learned the easy way on that one, If I didnt know better I'd bet the world on me playing him. Mike is one heck of a nice guy, and his focus, dedication etc make what he has, he gets the best out of his stroke-but like Keith if you look at the cue on the final stroke it looks good-real good. He is a champion for sure.

mika immonen, keith mcready, and angel paglia since we're counting everyone.

How do you put Mika and Angel in the same category as Keith? A bit of a windmill stroke hardly warrants being labeled poor fundamentals. Check every other aspect of their stroke, stance, bridge, etc and you'll see they're actually very sound.

Strokes

Mike Davis, Allen Hopkins, and Mike Sigel all have awful strokes as far as textbook strokes go. Oliver and Mika are almost textbook perfect on their strokes.

Sigel had a great stroke. He went through the cue ball perfectly every time. He had a long, level, even stroke that was repeatable shot after shot! Only Buddy may have made a better hit on the ball. You can't see it but you can hear that good hit on the cue ball. Buddy's hit was the best ever!

Maybe you meant another player, the infamous Seagull! :bash:

Hopkins has a funny swing, for sure.

But this is about fundamentals..look at Allen's cue. It travels in a dead straight line. It doesn't travel very far, but it is perfect.

Mike Sigel's stroke is amazing, IMO. He has solid fundamentals that I try to emulate. He goes through the ball so solidly. Sigel and Mizerak top my list.

Maybe 4 years ago, my real good buddy, Mike Jackson, and I went to Valley Forge together. He was in the pro 9-ball tourney. Of course, who does he draw first, yep, Shane (see pic below). I will say that Mike played real well but lost either 7-4 or 7-5. He simply couldn't keep up.

Mike's first one-loss-side match was against a guy with the most exaggerated, sideways, pendulum arm action I have ever seen in pool. I mean it was W-A-Y out there. Mike and I talked about it afterward and he told me he and this fellow chatted some and that he (the guy) had authored a book on pool. I'm pretty sure but not positive this was Gerald Huber (is this the right name?) author of "Green Felt Jungle". Also, I believe he posts on AzB as Jungledude. I hope I have all this correct. Maybe there's some video of him playing or some of you may have seen him play. It was, simply put, a crazy sidestroke.

Best,
Brian kc

I said since we're counting everyone. Someone even named some guy at his community center so..

I'm sorry if you feel different about that windmill type stroke but to me... i just can't even watch it.
