I think threads like this need some ground rules. Like, wherever the proposed player is from, there needs to be a significant sports population that routes for the team for the city in question.
In other words, we can't put Lou Butera up for Philly since he's from Pittsburgh. But maybe we can say Rempe (Scranton).

I see it differently. For me, it's a lot less grey. I mean, "in Philly" means...in Philadelphia. Not visits, not has spent some time in, not from another state but within a half hour drive or in state but an hour or so away.
I will concede if they live in a true suburb of Philly as being valid.
For ex: Steve Mizerak grew up/lived in a suburb of NYC, but in NJ. While he was within 15 minutes of NYC, he was still...a Jersey player.
