Minus Efren (because he is the pool God), Earl (because he is so controverial), and Alison...

Who is your favorite player and why?
Besides just talent and ability, consider work ethic, attitude, fan appeal, sportmanship, intelligence, character etc.

James Walden, Ricky Gracek because they are not the recognized names and faces and can knock anyone off at any time. I said "anyone." There's just something about being able to walk into any poolroom and sit at the bar just knowing that no matter who they call, you've 95% got the nuts.

Gabe Owen and Sarah Rousey. Both are extremely talented, conduct themselves professionally, have a great future in the game, and are friendly and approachable. Can't wait to see both of them at the DCC in January!

probably Nolan Ryan; never had a favorite pool player. Heck, he is SUPERMAN; he might play pool too. :)

1. SVB. A perfect role model for the game.
He works hard at all parts of his game.
He stays cool even when he's behind.
He's humble but fearless.
He has a very good manners & is very respectful.
He donates his time to charity work.
He has a beautiful stroke.
I can't get enough watching him play.

no question

Kid Delicious. I read Running The Table recently, and you can't help but like the guy and root for him.

I'll break it down into the categories you mentioned -

Talent- Corey Deuel - he amazes me every time I watch him play

Ability - Johnny Archer - Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound...

Work Ethic - Nick Varner - nobody works or practices as hard as Nick.

Attitude - Tony Robles - Win or lose, he is always smiling. In our game, Tony is the standard for class and dignity.

Fan Appeal - Keith McCready. Nobody works a room (or a crowd) like Keith McCready.

Sportmanship - Tony Robles/Thorsten Hohmann.

Intelligence - Oliver Ortmann. His brain operates in another dimension.

Character - Ralf Souquet. I have not met a kinder, more honest, or more determined player than the Kaiser.

Overall, my favorite players to watch are Corey Deuel, Mike Sigel, and Niels Feijen.

Men - Johnny Archer - Hoping to meet him in Atlanta!
Women - Jasmin Ouschan - What's not to like she is absolutely gorgeous!

I like Alex Pagulayan, because he exudes positive energy all the time. He is this generation's Keith McCready, in terms of ability to whip the crowd into a frenzy.

I also love watching Oliver Ortmann, no one else recovers from bad positions the way he can. He can get out of line, and have no chance of running out, and back-slice a ball 94 degrees, with perfect speed, and get out anyway.

Stevie Moore , Tony Watson, SVB and Alex the Lion all have great strokes great concentration and lots of gamble.--Leonard

PS I have always been a big Earl fan and hopes he gets it right again

Luther Lassiter

A quite gentleman who simply stepped up to the table and played pool with the best of them.

The five most interesting players to watch play are:

1) Efren Reyes
2) Efren Reyes
3) Efren Reyes
4) Efren Reyes
5) Efren Reyes

... but, my favorite player is definitely Ralf Souquet. Not only is he one of the most thoughtful and greatest players of his generation, but he sets the standard in his impeccable dress and demeanor. He's a role model in every sense of the word.
