I hope enough players tuned into TAR to watch the 15 ball rotation and liked the game. Also I hope it brought back memories of the seniors on here of the fun game it is playing for low stakes. That was the Filipino version of the game. I didn't care for it as much as how we play here in America. Tournaments would be first to 61 points and/or 15 ball rotation. Gambling, you can play Chicago, pay ball or money ball, and about a dozen more games all a little different, that are/were gambled on.

Two or three can play each man/woman for themselves, or 4 can play partners that can change partners every new game based on the money balls made in the beginning of the game. It's really a fun game with as little as half a buck to a buck a money ball. It would be good for the struggling poolrooms to start a game on one table with partners and as one has to leave someone else can jump in. Even the owner should jump in until someone else wants to play to keep the table going. My money ball table went at least 8 hours a day 7 days a week. It paid the rent. Johnnyt

Joe Tucker.

I wish Joe and Mark the best with American Rotation. I hope 8 players play it in 100's of poolroom around the country. The more players/rooms that get in it the bigger the purses. There are a few rules I don't care for, but I'm an old fart that doesn't like change. Johnnyt

Personally I liked the Filipino version. 60 points to win so there can never be a tie, no ball in hand, and the option of having the opponent shoot a spot shot adds some interesting strategic options.

I'm hoping I can get some friends to try it out soon.

I liked the Filipino version.
Eliminating ball in hand does slow things down but it makes things interesting when a player must execute
a slightly above average shot to get rewarded, and play position from a semi-long shot rather than
execute a no-brainer with the perfect angle for the next ball.

Interesting that there were frequently cases where spotting a ball brought little advantage
but was more like creating a push-type situation where they can see it but not make it.

Also impressive to see a few break'n'runs,
Not really the same in the american version where you get BIH (except on the first rack).

The filipino version is like tougher 9-ball with some clutter and ring-game elements.

American version I also like, it's a very carefully thought out game where a lot of luck has been removed.
Every point is earned and every point lost is usually deserved.
But also feels very harsh at times and of course it's designed for an extended race across multiple racks.

If I just wanted to have fun with buddies I'd play Filipino style.
If I was gambling or in a tournament I'd want American rotation.

Thank you Cleary. That's one if not the best ad for pool/pool game I've ever seen. Too bad that ad can't get on TV. If a man could break for the women I think they would do good in American Rotation. Johnnyt

Thank you. I put a lot of work into it. I think it properly explains the problems in pool and offers a solution.

Thank you. The voice was John Ford, a voice over artist I found.

I've got what they call in my industry a "seasoned ear," and the voice was the first thing I noticed, the tone, easy to comprehend, word pronunciation, rhythm, et cetera.

I actually did not know until recently that there is a market out there for voice-overs. Some people do sound good on audio.

Actually, out of all the voices out there for pool commentary -- and Jerry Forsyth will always be my favorite -- Jay Helfert actually has the best voice to my ear as far as comprehensibility, tone, rhythm, and word pronunciation.

Did you hear that, Jay?

The video is also easy to look at. I didn't get bored. The graphics and floating words to the voice were perfect. :)

In my industry, we use voice-overs A LOT. It was very important to pay for VO talent for this project. A solid voice makes a huge difference.

Nice going to Joe T for starting the American Billiard Club and congrats to Cleary
on the video. Also for Mark Griffen for getting behind it.

But come on you guys have to step it up, as there are some people (here on AZB believe it or not)
I won't mention any names (JohnnyT) who don't know who will be the first promoter of 15 Ball.

Sorry Johnny couldn't help myself. :grin-square:
I know you've been playing on your new table to
much to keep track of whats going on here!

Just hope the word gets out to everybody around the country.
Me thinks this is a great idea!

OK - so for us who are only just getting used to 10BALL - how do you play 15BALL ROTATION!

Well now that all depends...

Do you want to play full-rack rotation? Filipino rotation? or American Rotation?

This water needs more mud!

I actually saw a post on one of the local poolhall facebook pages where a guy was asking for action playing American Rotation. It was a surprise to me because I dont think there are any ABC rooms here in Indiana yet. Maybe it is catching on.

Do they have 50 rooms yet. I'd go all out right now if I could before Mike S. tour starts up. Getting too many leagues, like what has happened to streaming. Johnnyt
