:confused: Pronounce Efrens last name correctly? Everytime he says Rayazz it annoys me. Its just awful, Someone should correct him-its his job as a presenter to say the names of the althletes as correctly as they can, and this isnt a hard name.:confused:

I thought Efren's last name was pronounced as "ray-azz" or maybe "ray-ezz." It's definitely not "Rays." If it is "Rays," then I'm guilty of fudging his name, too! :o

i think i'm ok on this one, i have alot of friends outside pool from the PI and I havent heard RAY-AZZ, hell if he saying it right then i'm wrong wont be the first time, but every single announcer he works with with pronunces like I do. I'M WATCHING HIM WITH 2 OTHER GUYS IN THE BOOTH ONE IS jAY AND some guy from england-sorry for caps.

Englanders do have an accent to my ear, maybe why it sounds like "RAY-AZZ." :D

I find that Wych is one of the few that seems to get names right, I find most butcher names (of guys they generally know, or could at least ask) so bad you'd think there was 4 guys playing each game.
 
RAY-ace.

It's a Spanish word meaning "kings" and is a common Hispanic last name. In Spanish, it's RAY-ace.

I don't know if there's a Filipino twist on the pronunciation of all the Spanish names they have there, but I assume they pronounce it pretty much the same.

Also, in the videos I've seen where the commentators are Jerry Forsyth and a guy that sounds Filipino, the Filipino announcer pronounces it this way.

I think that it's pronounced as Ray-ezz, but I have noticed that Jimmy Wych does pronounce it the same way, but the more northern accent, makes it sound a little different :)

It may be that efren beats him so bad at pool that he is tongue tied when mentioning his name.=))
 
At least he doesn't call him Efrem.

You better get used to it though...there'll be years of hearing Orcullo as "Or-cawl-o" or "Or-cola" as I heard this past weekend. It should be pronounced "Or-cool-yo" per those that know him. Worse yet, there is confusion as to how to even SPELL his name...is it Orcullo or Orcollo?

Reyes is pronounced like the word or name 'RAY' and then 'YES' with a slight pause between syllables. Now that aint too hard is it? ;)
 
I turned the sound off ANYTIME Jim Wych is talking...period. That guy annoys the sh!t out of me.

Nope, you misspelled it, mosconiac. Sigel says, EfrUm, LOL but true. And people get on us Miss. boys.

Fatboy, we tolerate you Yanks making fun of our speech - out about eh - but to demand that we speak Philippino with a Las Vegas accent is a bit much.
 
I just want to know one thing. Have you ever heard Allen Hopkins say SCHNOOKERED? I squirm every time he says that. I want to slap him, but he's bigger than me.
