Sigel forfeit??? More information please...

Good luck in your next match "Patterns" - keep us updated

Sigel came into the tournament a couple minutes before 11 wearing shorts and a baseball cap with a cup of coffe in his hand. Started yelling from the doorway over to the tournament director that he had looked at the schedule and it had him down for 1:00 p.m. and this was bullshit.

Schmidt said he thought it was a 1:00 match for Sigel when he had looked at it earlier, too.

Sigel just left and didn't come back.

About 1:15 they announced the forfeit.I mean 11-15

Did they announce the forfeir 1:15 or 11:15? Big difference...

So it looks like Sigel got "Deueled"...

Na, its different than Cory, as I read about him, he was confused over the time. It seems Mike got mad cause the time was listed correctly and he wasn't confused at all about it..... I get it.

3andstop - can you clarify? I think you are saying it was listed for 1pm??? And then changed?

So as I read this, he came in 2 hrs ahead of time, knew his scheduled time, which was verified by Schmidt who also knew it to be 1pm and got mad. Makes no sense to me, I was only kidding when I said, I get it. :)

He was pissed he was set to play at 1:00 and then finds out a few minutes before 11:00 he now is playing at 11:00. I would be pissed too. At their level, you need to get mentally prepared as well.

Seeing that this is a World Championship, I would think any change to the schedule and someone would CALL the participant right away. Apparently Dragon does not agree and you need to fend for yourself. BS.

Without being there I can't understand what happened. Danny Harriman must have known what the correct time was so what happened with Sigel? He is staying in the hotel and would've had time to change and make it back before he forfeit anyway.

Mike is a great player but doesn't always think the rules apply to him. I think I will reserve judgement on who to blame until I get the whole story. Of course that may not happen.

There seems to ALWAYS be more to the story than the first info reported... I'd reserve judgment too.

Personally I really don't understand the mixups for the schedule. I have played in a lot of tournaments and never had a problem. I do always make sure I know what time I play though. I triple check it.

any updates on current matches? info on Barouty especially.
