By the way, my little picture post was entirely in-jest. I'm not supporting KV or against the guy. It's prob fair to say I'm tired of the 2000 threads about the guy (which, from what i gather, are justified).

HOWEVER, posting threads won't get your cue done faster. If you wish in one hand and shit in the other--- one hand will fill-up a lot quicker.

I'd call for a refund, if I didn't get a response, I'd pay $50 and call a district magistrate to serve him papers. That usually gets someone's attention when a sheriff bangs down their door. FIX the problem - stop posting about it.
Hey "clique" rider ,,, you CAN stop READING them or just skip over them. Its pretty easy..

step 1. When you see a kevin varney thread skip over it

step 2. Read the other threads about SVB or BHE

step 3, Your done congratulations!!!!! you have passed the "dont read the KV threads"

Good job

You may be right...but i have seen VERY FEW SPECIFIC posts regarding actual customers who have been ripped off by Kevin. Kevin made a post a few days ago explaining the delays and indicated that EVERYONE will get their cues as promised. He was at the Smoky Mountain Shoot-Out a couple of weeks ago and is NOT HIDING from anyone.

there's no need to hide with so many of your customers out of state. some of these people are out 400 bones or something like that. taking time off of work and going all the way to NC isn't an option for most people. people that rip other people off on ebay don't hide either. they go to work and come home because the internet makes everyone anonymous.

for instance, my name isn't really poolplayer2093 and i doubt many people here could post my whole name.if i ripped someone off on here i wouldn't need to hide either. i'd go to work and come home because the chances of running into an az'r from another state is pretty slim

not trying to imply anyone is ripping anyone off just trying to get the point across

I disagree that serving as an alert to new customers is the only good thing. These threads put pressure on KV. If he wants his name to be in good standing, he needs to conduct himself in such a way that it will be. If he continues to clutch to people's money while not delivering what he promised or instead of being a reasonable business person and offering a refund, then he will cost himself a lot more money in lost business than what he's stubbornly held onto.

Sometimes I do not say exactly what I mean. Using the word "only" is probably one of those time.

I do not know KV other than what I read here and have never had any dealings or corresponded with him.

But I have "gut feelings",
1) he will not be pressured or intimidated into doing what he doesn't want to do
2) he will eventually complete the deals that he has made, but on his own terms.

I've been wrong before and this may be another. We'll see. All we can do is wait.

Yeah....right. Where are all these people who have been ripped off? I have yet to read one post from a customer who has provided details about deposits, delivery promises, attempts to contact Kevin, etc.

For god's sake, 6 weeks ago most of the current bashers were engaged in a Kevin Varney lovefest!

at this point of completion why hasn't he gotten the cue yet?

the cue doesn't look to be another 6 months away from completion to me

Roadkill right here bro
in a thread i started asking for a refund the cue in the picture is said to have just had it's final pass. the guy who bought it still hasn't seen it yet 15 months later.

you have met someone who has been lied to. you've met me (well not really but you get the idea)

As he is wont to do every few weeks.

If I had a nickel for every promise...

I agree. The issue myself and others have is that this new deal that is on his own terms is not particularly close to the agreed upon deal.

Some people try to live up to their word, and try to make amends when they cannot. Then there are people like Kevin Varney.

Is this a joke? Read more of the varney threads. One guy is over a year late. Another guy apparently had KV tell him the cue was done and going to be shipped the next day, but then it never came. I could give you exact dates and times and PMs of my transaction with KV if that would serve any purpose. Poolplayer has is entire thread.

Heck, some of the Varney defenders are guys who are waiting for cues. Even they admit he's way behind. They've been wating 6, 8 months, and who knows what they were originally promised. They're just less annoyed by events and take a holier-than-thou attitude at how patient and calm they are.

But hey, if they're willing to wait, that's fine. That's their business. For those of us who were depending on the 90 day guarantee, things are different. And those issues could have been resolved quickly and quietly were it not for KV's continually stonewalling us.

Ok, warning will be right behind this post.

Keep it up.

Next time someone is called a nuthanger will get them a vacation too.

I've doing my best not to bash on KV and remain neutral in all of this, but I agree with what you say here. I will never do busness with KV, you can bet your last $$$ on that!!

My point is that KV is in control of the situation whether anyone likes it or not and all his "customers" can do is wait it out and hope for the best.

I've spent too much time in this thread already, I'm out of here.

Kevin do the right thing give the people a refund or their cues. Good luck to all!!

Now really why would a cuemaker avoid this forum with hundereds of potential customers because of threads where other cuemakers get called out for bad business practices? If it's because they are afraid they are going to get called out because of THEIR bad business practices then we don't want them here anyway. That's the whole point of deterring crooks n flakes.

This post isn't to admonish those who feel the need to complain about life's injustices because everyone has that right. It is what our forefathers fought for and one of the principles that our country was founded on. Legitimate complaints are just and should be aired here amongst those who might be inclined to provide sound ideas for resolution or simple discussion.

It with reluctant resignation that I have come to the thinking that this forum is a poor choice of places for any professional poolplayer or cuemaker to spend time at unless they happen to be wordsmiths and enjoy one-upsmanship on a billiard forum, where newbies, vultures-laying-in-wait and s**t-stirrers get their sadistic pleasure from torturing another human being with words.

Complaints are not always designed for sadistic pleasure and I'm positive that many are truly justified.

This forum is the best forum on earth and it can be even better but I think it will never be a place where professional poolplayers and cuemakers can come and chat on a regular basis as there are too many people laying in wait for an opportunity to pounce on them for whatever reason.

For these two groups of people, unless they are wordsmiths who enjoy a good bark fest, they should drop in to say hi to their fans and thank them, then boogie on back to the practice table as some people can't wait for the opportunity to shoot at a slow moving, unsuspecting target.

No amount of policing can stop the sniper on a forum. The sniper is camoflauged and his weapon is locked and loaded only waiting for his prey to appear. Even if he misses a kill shot, the collateral damage is severe. Even if the sniper is banned, the grist for his mill has already been separated and the grind continues long after the banned sniper is forced from the forum.

Even if a player or cuemaker is a capable wordsmith, a billiard forum is like a minefield and every now and then even the most careful will walk into waiting Cyber-IEDs planted by Cyber-terroists with injury and destruction on their mind.

Cuemakers and professional poolplayers, be smart, visit often, don't stay long; tell us you are happy and you appreciate us and your fans, never argue or try to justify your position, simply say hello and wave to us with a smile then disappear into cyber-space as quickly as you arrived. This is for your safety and your sanity as this is a difficult place to navigate without picking up unnecessary injury.

Your respective professions have enough obstacles to overcome without adding another.

Best Regards and with reluctant resignation,
JoeyA

You are correct Steve in that everyone will get the cues they ordered. As has been posted in various threads, Kevin has had a run of bad luck in his personal life an the last half year which has put him behind and in this bind. I know some only want "off with his head!" However, he is working to get everyone what they have ordered. I am sure this will all be resolved in a civil manner and in the near future.

great post .:) i have spoken to kevin and even thou i will not post what we discussed you are pretty right on the money. and basically it is the same pack of posse that are badmouthing and they do not even have a cue being made. all in all a certain member here who his name sounds and rhymes with ( tampon ) and i did not mention any names TYVM is doing is trying to run someones business . and for personal gain that is all it is . plain down right jealousy. period because if you are not having a varney cue made why keep saying same thing over and over and over ? and to anyone who says they keep badmouthing someone to get the word out to other members is total bull**** and a lie .and i hope smart folks can see thru that bs .

but rest assured some new idiot will start another same ol bs thread and waste bandwidth . atleast folks are not throwing personal insults out since warning to be banned .other then that everyone have a great day !!!

Seriously Eric, where did you learn English???

I've stayed out of this, but I have to ask, why wouldn't KV get those people who paid upfront and who are *****ing about the huge delay a refund? It's the only way to get these guys whole again and get them off his ass.

Being a business owner myself, it doesn't make sense to me why he wouldn't do this unless there was some other issue like there is no money on hand to refund. These people could cause a lot of grief for him legally through lawful ways that make some of these derogatory posts on a message board look like a cakewalk.

I think I know you. Are you around 17 or 18 years old and drive a Honda Civic with that huge spoiler on the back? I think I saw a "Fear This" sticker on the back window too.
