Your favourite Earl Strickland quotes

One of his best ones. " it wasn't a foul because the referee didn't see it "

Playing in Las Vegas a few years ago, Earl is up against Francisco Bustamante in a tough match. Earl's shooting when he overhears something that bothers him. He stops in the middle of his run and walks up to a woman sitting in the front row and has a few heated words with her. Most of us couldn't hear what was said. After a while Earl gets back to the table, shoots three more balls, then stops to have a few more words with her. Again hardly anyone in the audience could make out what was going on but it was obvious Earl was irritated. He goes back to the table to polish off the last two balls of the run, then turns to the woman and loudly says, "Just admit it. I'm the best you ever seen!!".

I was in Earl's corner at the 2007 WPC in Manila for his first match. I believe it was against Alan Tan from Singapore. The first thing Earl said when he walked to his chair was "147 pool players, and one guy with talent." I wanted to root for Earl, but he made it very difficult.

Alan was a perfect gentleman, who never said a word or did anything inapropriate. Throughout the match, Earl kept saying "look at him, he's sharkin me" while Alan was doing absolutely nothing.

In the end, Alan kicked his ass. That was the match where Earl shot the last 9 at about 100mph and missed.

I remember that- the guy was sitting there like a statue the whole match, looking at Earl like he was from another planet.:D

I have to say Earl is my favorite player to watch,I also am very fond of Archer and try to be like him at the table besides the nit picking,he carries himself well.I know many people bash him but he gave his life to this game,as a young man he would sleep under the table,i mean how many of you have slept under the table?,im not talking about your wife kicking you out of the bedroom either,im talking really living pool.I think he is the greatest 9 ball player the world has seen period and when he was on he would run packs on people and have them fried in the electric chair,he wouldnt beat an opponent,he would destroy them and the player they thought they were.Go Earl! :D

Earl quote

I was Talking with SVB and he told me about a funny one when he played Earl in the Challenge Match.
"Shane and those Gremlins are sharking me" Refering to The Behnke boys they were seated behind Shane. Their Dad wasn't happy with that

I wasnt there, but this was told to me by someone who was. Earl was playing in a tourny at Pro Billiards in Orlando a few years ago. I cant remember who his opponent was, but the opponent played a safe, the crowd clapped, and Earl starts his usual jawing at the crowd. This goes on for a bit until somebody yells "Earl the Pearl???? No its more like Earl the SQUIRREL." Earl was livid. I cant remember what he said back, but that is funny.

Hopefully this is not a duplicate...I went through the thread and didn't catch it, but I guess I could've missed it. But I remember at one of the IPT events, probably King of the Hill, they tried to get an interview with Earl, and he said: "I know how to lose, 'cause I'm a loser!"

I always thought that was pretty entertaining.

this thread is a testament that Earl is a legend and highly controversial when it comes to Outrageous Quotes. the guy's statement just clicks everytime. you just love him and hate him at the same time. an open contradiction.

A buddy told me a story about how Earl was playing in a tourney in front of a large crowd. The crowd were all sitting on bleachers. As Earl was in mid runout the bleachers collapsed and people went flying everwhere. Earl heard the commotion, stood up, saw what was happening and then without hesitation turned around and proceeded to finish off his runout from about the 5 ball....lol

Another One LOL

I was at a tourny down south a couple of years ago, I was sweatin Earl. He was playin real strong, BS'in w/ me while he was running out. There were about 5 young boys in the stands fucin w/ Earl. He turned to me and said Frankie give me a hand, I want to bust these kids in the fucin head but there's too many of them. LOL

Frankie.........I still love him and his game !!!!!

great thread, but it's missing a quote from 2002 WPC finals. when earl fired in the last nine and jumped on the table he yelled something out loud. i still can't make out what it was because of all the noise, anyone knows?

You know Frank, when people tell me how great Earl is for Pool, I think of all the incidents like this that I am aware of. He has turned many people away from the game, including prospective sponsors.

When he walked out on the Final match in Milwaukee on the Camel Pro Tour, he doomed it for everybody. R.J. Reynolds was prepared to up the ante and put more money into Pool. I know this first hand. After that display of bad sportsmanship before a packed crowd, they washed their hands of any additional sponsorship. And shortly thereafter walked away from Pool, and took their money with them.

You can lay that at his feet, and I said so.

Wasn't there was an issue with cigarette ads, that you could not have any anymore basically, or sponsor in an area where people under 18 may see it. I thought that was pretty much why pool had to be dropped, along with anything else they sponsored.
