Wood Polisher on a custom cue

In reply to your question…….No, Renaissance Wax does not, cannot, will not impart any stickiness to your cue shafts.
Renaissance Wax is the real deal. Kind of stinky and pricey, but amazing and worth it. And I wish I didn't feel compelled to add this next part. But I do because not everyone is great at reading instructions or following them. Myself included.

Renaissance Wax does not, cannot, will not impart any stickiness to your cue shafts when used properly.

Like every wax or protective coating I've ever used, multiple thin coats with plenty of time for curing and proper buffing between them are key to getting the most out of this product.

Florida Open 2025, August 5-10, Orlando, Caribe Royale

miss of the tournament.. well first overrunning the 8 and then opting for the power shot. why not just take the cut?
I watched the shot a dozen times. Max got himself into a bad spot first by giving himself a tough angle after pocketing the six to get on the seven. Then I am pretty sure he tried to get slightly above the eight for an easy shot in the left side pocket that would have given natural position for the nine on the bottom long rail.

Risky position shot, it turned out. He came up short on the position on the eight. Even if he intended to come up shorter on the eight, and overran his position as you think, he still would have had to gone up and down the table. Classic case of getting out of line and falling further out of line.

But he didn’t have any other great options imo. Doesn’t look like he had enough angle for a simpler cut on the eight to get to the nine. The nine was on the rail near middle of the table.

He had to use some kind of power to go up the table and come back down.

What is the Taiwanese Secret to Success?

Dragging up an old thread.

Looking for info on Chang Yu Lung, who made the top four at the Florida Open, I came across this thread. Man, AzBilliards has information in all facets of pool, and this thread explains the Taiwanese approach to billiards like a tee. AzBilliards is the pool archives of the future.

Chang Yu Lung is 43 years old today, and his opponent, Shane Van Boening, is 42.

What is the Taiwanese Secret to Success?

insight on this topic?
Forged in Fire comes to mind. Sparring with cheap games can strengthen both players.
I have seen , well there was a time I sparred with an equal player once a week. After a few months he showed his improvement by cashing in the next Reno pro 9 ball event. 🤷‍♂️ I was slightly ahead in our cheap money contests and had sent him to the cash machine a couple of times. 🤷‍♂️

After you win a game a pool...

My favorite expression after leaving myself hooked right after pocketing a really difficult shot is……OK, now what
My favorite thought is, "just kick it in and run out."
That brings a favorite memory....
It was after work at the tavern with my workmates. I had bragged and was showing my skill. While playing our superintendent for the next round of drinks, I broke and ran to the 8 ball and accidentally hooked myself. The crew was giggles and telling Randy, "Well at least you will get a shot." NOPE, I kicked it in for the win. 🤷‍♂️ Well I had to or lose credibility with my work crew. 🤷‍♂️
