Or maybe he simply doesn't know that surface streets are city streets that are not the freeway/Interstate/expressway/highway. During racing season we end up going thru Chicago at least 8 times a season. 94, 294, 41 and other roads I forget. The worst stretch of road we have seen so far is 80/90 near Gary, it seems like at least 50% of the cars in the nation are on that stretch of road on Sunday afternoons/evenings.

I've played golf for close to 60 years. My best guess would be over 2 thousand rounds. I don't think I played more than 5 by myself.

With the exception of the relative few represented by stroke play tournaments, virtually every one of them were directly competing against one or more or their individuals.

I've played a lot more pool "competing" against myself, either playing the ghost or 14-1, than I ever did golf.

I think people that don't golf or golfed very little underestimate how difficult it is to consistently strike the ball well. Forget about scoring, just solidly connect with the ball without hitting the ground first or missing by a quarter of an inch in the other direction and hitting a worm burner.

It's why golf equipment companies keep selling new gear, the promise of making it easier.
