Took a class in college called Spherical Collision and Rotation for the engineering curriculum that got me started in pool.
The professor was a very good player and oft used billiard balls as a teaching aid.

Be careful there, it'll appear to work for some angles but it won't for others, A parallel line from the ob to the pocket line through the cb is the only way to get the correct cps on both the ob and the cb for every possible shot.

As long as the method you use for visualization is a consequence of that concept of parallel lines off of the pocket through the ob line, it will be accurate.

Joe Tucker came up with a numbering system that works well for people. Based on the same concept.

They do indeed. The only one I remember not being overly fond of, was a CX series. If my memory serves, it felt "hollow" to me. Could have been just that particular cue. I'd only ever hit with a few Schons...Most of them felt pretty solid.

Modern day 3C tables/rubber/Cloths all play 95% the 'Same' speed!

Some 3C tables have longer/shorter 'angles' according to the 'Mechanic' that set them up!

This makes it sound like alternate break and winner break is somewhat even when it comes to outcome.
