cheap carbon fiber shaft

long time wood shaft user, want to try cf, but on the cheap. need 5/16 14 to fit Schon/Joss, about 12.5 diameter.

What's the best bang for my buck??

TIA

There is this highly rated seller on ebay, who auctions off these flawed Jacoby Black Seconds, with a cheap butt. They usually sell for pretty cheap. This one for example is ending on Sunday, and will probably sell for under $200.

I have tried these, from this seller, several times though, and I personally think they are total garbage, and nothing like the real 1st quality shafts. The taper is nothing like the real thing, and the mm of the tips are always some unusual size. They hit like complete garbage too, in my opinion.

Do the best players you know have OCD or perfectionistic qualities moreso than the average person??

Corey came in second or third at Derby City about twenty years ago. Rack your own and I didn't see anybody contesting Corey blatantly slug racking. He would put the balls in a wooden rack, position the rack where it belonged and then right in front of everybody pull everything behind the third row back, making a heck of a slug rack. He wasn't doing that the next year.

In all fairness he was playing very strongly otherwise too. The cue ball was on the rail just above the side pocket maybe four inches or so, an object ball across the table from it. Very close to even, I don't think anyone else considered the safety Corey shot There were a few possible shots for Corey all looking like more risk than reward. He eyeballed things awhile then shot across the table for a perfect speed single ball safety. His opponent had to think awhile and I think his opponent was Efren. Might have been Jason Miller. Either way, when you are in at least third out of three or four hundred players you ain't doing shabby!

Hi, I do not understand the slug rack thing. This was 9 ball? What balls were touching, and which ones were not? Just really curious. Thanks.

Posting about 1 foot on the floor on FB

I always thought it was a recent rule to me ( maybe in the 90s) I could be wrong but everyone there seems like it is been that forever
my eight-ball team lost a city league championship one season in Toledo, Ohio on the last game of the playoff match when we were even up & I broke & ran out but had to stretch to reach the eight ball & didn't have my one foot Flat on the floor (Toledo Pool League rules) so I lost the game & the championship, Pretty Nitt Picky to say the least but a rule is a rule !

Springfield Cues CF shaft reviews?

Just my own two cents here...
Unlike most (or all) others posting on this topic, I've actually visited Springfield Cues, met Doug and learned a lot about him, his passion and the hard work he's put into this. Isolated complaints from years ago don't carry much weight, IMO. Every business has growing pains. Having a "placeholder" picture on the website is not ideal, but not uncommon either.
For what it's worth, I would have no reservations buying the products offered by this company.

Cuelees Phantom Sword 1

I like it very much! I sometimes wish it was maybe just a little softer, but a couple of my favorite players are wrapless, so I don't mind a hard grip. It serves its purpose very well and is incredibly well applied. I find it quite hard to detect the seam. Same for the previous Cuelees I had - the Tyrant 2.
I just got a Gold Rush with a kangaroo wrap and it's amazing.
