Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

There are alot of things that people collect that don't appreciate in value, I don't have the desire to collect cues, for me they are the most important tool I use in my pool game, I enjoy the art and precision in building a custom cue I just don't have the desire to invest in owning a cue that I won't use to play, I love the cue I own, it feels like it was built for me.
Who says you cant play with the cue? My everyday player is probably $7 - 8k

Illuminated Cueing arts vs Projection Pro Billiards systems (ICATS vs PPB)

Thanks, Fuggles. I don't have a lot of time to burn/waste setting up lots of stickers for great runnouts that Tor lowry, Dr dave, and other great teachers have set up for students of the game. It looks like that content is available with ICATS. At this point, I'm leaning towards that one. I do like the fact that poolbilliard.co is available to connect with the PPB system.
I have the PPB. It has the BU drills which I use quite a bit. It does not have Tor's stuff. I converted what I had of his pattern drills to jpg and uploaded to PPB. I also did a couple of Bert Kinisters workouts, and some Phil Cappelle shots from his practice book, and The Pro Book shots, and Neils stuff. I use a few of the built in but mostly what I added myself.

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

Depends on who and how much. It pays to have a referral or let's say sometimes being a local. Some cuemakers can really be picky and won't entertain customers other than their preferred clientele. Is the pricing constant or fixed/same for all cuemakers? I believe we all know the answer to that. 20 years doesn't seem that long ago.
20 years ago everything was ALOT cheaper, so $1500 then is like at least $3000 today.

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

I paid $1500 for a custom cue built for me almost 20 years ago, that would be double in today's money.

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

Custom or built from a custom shop CAN not be more expensive than a production cue. Price out a Cuetec or Predator with 2 shafts, with their premium models, it is easy to get to $1500-2k. I did this and ended up with a Merry Widow from SugarTree for less with 2 shafts.

A challenge to forum members: Shoot through the curtain

Most pool players have said to give up on aiming systems and stick with ghost ball and intuition which comes with a lot of table time. But I think a straight stroke is also a key.
Ghost ball works because the target is essentially the same size as the ball in front of it. IOW you have an exact model with little perspective distortion. Flaws are many though. You are making estimations instead of calculations. Makes it easy to learn but also unreliable for the "most" that tout it. Not blaming ghostball for the handful of champs in existence but it sure fits the model. Under opposition, what happens to the guesses? The better players skirt this by tucking in and maximizing cinches. Good method huh?

I think a good aiming method should enable a desk guy to get to a table and literally not miss anything.
