Rip Tall Jeff Sparks

We lost one of the best players of my time in the late 60's and early 70's. Passed away last Thursday 6/4 from complications from lung cancer, he was 82 and a great guy. I called about 6 weeks ago and he said he'd lost a 100lbs in the last year! From 270 to 170lbs.

Told me he hurt everyday and was ready to go! I called him again a few weeks ago and had a good bull sh-- session with him, never knew he had cancer! What a loss, a legendary player and great guy. Was as good a nine ball player as anybody back in the day. My condolences to his family. I'll miss him!

RIP my friend

surely this has happened in a big match, what's the rule??

and he says, "break it down and you concede and I win. Continue play with it as is."

Then you crack him across the forehead with the butt and go to jail. Had to get a new cue anyway.

Well under the wording of the rules it’s only a concession if it’s his inning. Presumably I’d be switching at my inning. The announcement that I’m changing shafts would just be to avoid an argument that it was some other form of concession.
