Nice job with the practice ball. I agree that those are good contact points to practice. FYI, another good point is the maximum-english-effect point at about 4 and 7 as demonstrated and illustrated here:

Third up : I turned 49 years old the other week . Still think I could shoot a good game of UK 8 Ball Pool and I'd love to play all the US Billiards games but the sad matter of fact is that nobody else around here would play US Billiards & I'd need to get my eyes fixed for specs first lol !
Second up : I got lucky in the Accu-Stats Game-Show and all the way from the USA to Scotland came a DVD US Open 9 Ball Championship : Jayson Shaw V Shane Van Boening and that came last week in the post here .
