I don't understand the "rack your own" thing. If playing for any real money, wouldn't you rack your opponents and they accept/decline or have a neutral racker? I mean, who would allow a PLAYA to rack their own for any substantial amount of money?

Don't get me wrong - I admire a rack artist the way I admire a card mechanic... it's a beautiful thing to watch when done correctly. However, having a gaff and rarely being able to use it is like knowing a program on a poker machine and never finding the machine....cool, but frustrating.

Yeah from what I have heard from people who wanted to match up with Donnie he is pretty much commited to "rack your own 9-ball" against the top players as he is a rack mechanic of the most extreme level. AKA the balls will be set in the exact same spots, he will make the exact same ball in the same pocket off the break, and he will then have the exact same pattern to run out in each and every single game.

At that point it is hardly "pool" anymore, part of the greatness of this game is the variety of shots you have to play and the variety of patterns. Donnie Mills playing rack your own 9-ball takes all of that clean out of the game.

I have seen Johnny Archer do the exact same thing in a rack your own tournament and he ran 7 straight racks where he made all 9 balls on the table go into the exact same pocket in each and every game, it was sickening. Actually Archer might be the one guy who could give Donnie a fit playing rack your own, the DVD set of that match should be about 50 discs of lint picking and micromanegment racking glory.

If all you want is "rack your own 10-ball on a neutral table" I am pretty sure you can find someone to match up with and TAR can happily set it up. Once the "how about rack your own 9-ball instead, and uhh yeah can we play on my table?" type of stuff gets into the discussion things tend to fall apart.

If you want 10-ball on a neutral table I think John S said he could probably be talked into it, I am sure Rodney's backer is quite happy with that game, Marcus Chamat was looking for action not long ago and I think that you and him would create great rail action on both sides in rack your own 10-ball.

I am pretty sure as long as you meet in the middle on neutral turf which is the obvious fair thing to do the rack your own 10-ball matches are not that hard to come by. Most people are not interested in rack your own 9-ball against you for well known reasons.

Nobody wants to get beat by a gaff and thats what rack your own nine ball is stepup and beat somebody fair and square if you want your respect donnie you gotta earn it not cheat to get it..I have seen corey run 6s 8s 9s even racking his own practicing its not real pool so can you beat someone playing reall pool Donnie it remains to be seen..I think ur a dog and always will be if you play Rodney even ten ball or john on a neutral site i will bet 1,000 for sure..So here is the question will you play????????????

Ok - here's a question for ya....

If you rack your own, does your opponent still have the opportunity to check your own rack for gaps, defects and make you re-rack if they don't like it (to ensure you're not gaff-racking yourself)?

It's like ya have to find a nit moron D-player as a neutral-racker to ensure it's fair at the highest level. Or, use a Sardo rack. Can you gaff a rack if you use a Sardo? Just curious.

I think I'd pick up a homeless person on the corner and pay them $10/hour to rack the balls. That way you know the rack is equally f-ed for everyone.

Whos is the racker? Will the balls be placed in the same order for both of us? What if rodney and I played rack ur own and we put the 2 as the very back ball? Neutral racker doesn't mean much because Im not gonna break until he racks them right, it would just take longer. Same if me and rodney played rack for each other, i woudnt break until they were racked how i would rack them. WHATS THE DIFFERENCE??

thats the point of the rack your own ......to ensure you get a good rack ...i dont care about who im playing. if they wanna gaffe rack themselves have at it..

As long as the rack aint tilted & it's on the spot agreed upon & other guy can check to make sure it's not a gaff...I don't see what the big deal is...Donnie has obviously spent some time breaking & racking to improve his overall game & chances just like Corey has so instead of whinning about it players should just put the time in on that area PERIOD...it aint rocket science...just POOL!!!!

It dont matter what the spot is when you have a guy breaking from the head spot cuz you will only make a ball if you get a lucky kiss, so do the percentages on that happening! We will play him dead even 9 ball , rack your own, for whatever number!

Bartram says that gamemaker backed out but he clearly stated that the window was wide open and he would fly Donnie to Vegas to play or go to Florida and play, rack your own 9 ball. ?????

Donny has stated on here over and over that he will play any American that he is not friends with (Corey) rack your own 9 ball even.

Now gamemaker wants to play 10 ball - not 9 ball.

I said I wanted to meet this gamemaker but I am not sure. Is gamemaker Scooter cause he makes and backs out of so many games all you can get is confused on what the real game is going to be?

JCIN - when I meet this gamemaker to bet on Bartram vs Morris, please have a pen and paper available as we will need it in writing what the bet is.
