Derby City

It will be if TAR is in it. You have my word on that. It was supposed to be non smoking last year and we expected the hotel to enforce it. They didn't so this year we will. No one likes playing or sweating when you can't breath.

Perfect!!!

Sorry

Damn, Billy, if you're making that kind of jing whacking people.... pay me 70% of what they pay you and you can clear the difference just making the call :) After all, you probably get the discount at Dennys by now, right? It's hard to make your gettaway in a Scooter Store scooter :)

j/k

Can't afford it, too much inflation, can barely make ends meet. Can't give 70%, maybe 10%, on selected contracts.

I only saw you play in the '70s, Billy, so it is hard for me to wrap my head around the idea that you need weight. I remember when everybody (and I mean everybody) tried to copy your 9 ball break. I also remember that you had the reputation of never stiffing anyone.

Billy why are you not listing the great battles between you and the lugubrious yet dignified Grady Mathews at the Derby?
Is it because the outcome was too small to mention? Because there seemed to be a lot at stake at the time?

I just finished talking to Gregg Sullivan, we talked about the last DCC in regard to the good and bad points. We covered just about all the questions one would have if interested in attending. Some of the good points were that the security was much better than at the Exec West, and the food was also better, plus the concession stands were always open. He assured me that there would be more restaurants open this year over last year, based on the severity of the winter storm that precluded workers from getting there. He also said that the hotel was allotting him an extra 100 rooms this year. That will help a lot of the people that had to travel from outside hotels. I asked him about the gambling area, that is one of the big attractions at the old DCC that was missing the first year at the new location. We agreed that gambling at pool was what really made the DCC a special event, and this year he would make changes with the gambling areas. There is a room on the second floor above the tournament room, where there are 8 tables, he is thinking about making that room the official gambling area. In addition to that he said that after tournament play ends (daily)about 12:00 pm the tournament room would be available for gambling. But please be discreet. Well it seems to me that the next DCC will be much improved, and we all should be looking forward to attending. I know I am, basically because I enjoy the gambling end of it, in addition to the tournament play.

For those who would like to compete with me gambling the following is a resume of the last 3 years that i've put together.Below is my resume for the past three years ( approx. )

In the past three years playing players I have lost $53,000, but there are still people that refer to me as a player who only plays with the nuts. I guess the people that make those unfounded statements are people that really don't know, but are quick to try to impress people that they are among the smarts.

Bill Incardona the nut player still wants to play, Who's next?

Whatever you do don't anybody mention gambling.

JCIN,

I have a suggestion for TAR/DCC/ACTION this year. The only reason I go to the derby is the action, and for me It sucks to not know about the action that is going on and miss it. I think it would be awesome if you set up a twitter page that you and a handful of people "in the know", could update with the action and where its at. Then junkies like me could quickly see on my phone if I am missing action anywhere. I would suggest you, nasty, disco, Fred A and maybe a few more. All of you guys could update the same twitter account, all of us freaks can subscribe and get the action matches/locations ASAP.

Whaddya think???

Ian

Great Idea..

I can't friggin wait! I'm going this year for the 1st time, and I'm trying to set up an action budget. I'm basically unknown, but I wanna get in the box to test myself. The wife and I got to hang out with the TAR guys at the EXPO last year and help them sell shirts n stuff.

I'm gonna try to slip in the DCC and play a few champs relatively cheap.

See you all there...

I just noticed that TAR does have a twitter page. So I guess I am just suggesting multiple people be able to update the ongoing action durring the Derby.

Billy,

You know what we say in Oklahoma: "you know what the nuts are for, getting shot off" Good luck this year, I hope to have the pleasure of watching you on the DCC stream. Take care and good luck!!!

Figure it out

billy i have played one pocket no more than 3 times since we played.
i will play you even at the dcc you dont need to spot me even though you beat me bad.

Chris, I turned you down in Galveston, what makes you believe that I will accept your offer? I also admire your skills in matching up, you seem to match up well, and fair, so think about it and I will play you with a little handicapp. You should know by now that I like action and will play a fair game. I'm not playing as well today as I was when we played, furthermore when we played it was in my room where I felt very comfortable, I was a confident player at that time, not so much now.I'll take 9 to 8 and play a 5k set. I'm not going to change my mind, I respect your game too much to do that.:sorry:

Regards,
Bill Incardona

I believe that was in 2006.
