I just want to set the record straight here...I can verify that Mary was mean and disrespectful (sharking) to not 1, not 2, but SEVERAL of the players in one particular tournament. As the tournament director, I was welcoming and friendly to her, as I am to all who come out to play with us, and she was even insulting to me when there was no rhyme or reason for it. Aside from that, she made a lot of claims about her abilities (I'm a snooker player, I never lose, etc.) and had a lot of excuses when she couldn't back the claims up (I'm not used to playing with girls, I usually play snooker, I'm used to playing on a 10 foot table, etc). Additionally, she made some very derogatory remarks about the players, the tournament, the room and female players in general right here on AZ...
I don't know what your angle here is...attention, justice, another kiss from Mary...but whatever it is, your reaction seems REALLY way over the top.

I don't necessarily blame OMGWTF for calling her out, although the way she goes about doing things can be a little honery. I'm talking about all of the people who like to jumpm on the bandwagon with little or no real information who have no idea how things may have really gone down.

I'm not defending MAry here. I would probably put my money on Melinda if I were to bet on a match based on my personal knowledge. I'm saying that it's not right for everyone to perpetuate all of the nonsensical B.S. and to add to the destruction of someone's reputation without first hand knowledge, and THAT IS WHAT IS HAPPENING in that thread.

I did some looking befor I posted a reply I just had a few ? about some things I noticed. On her web page in the first photo shes holding the cue lefty with a strange looking bridge almost like the old Willie Hopppie fist bridge or like my 7 year olds bridge. Then when you enter the site shes holding the cue righty and in the pitchure with her on the bar table shes using another strange bridge looks like the typical APA 3 super evevated straight finger miss everyother ball bridge. So I was just wondering is she righty or lefty and is she so good she can play both hands with, by my eye not so good mechanics.

As for looks thats what started all this I think, so as not to be rude Ill just say she isnt ugly but JL and many others have nothing to fear. Once again thats in my eye....

Same old stuff on this forum. Theory of relativity, quantum physics. Objects acquire mass as they increase in speed, an object traveling at the speed of light would have infinite mass and therefore would require infinite energy, therefore no object can travel at the speed of light.

Blah, blah, blah. Common knowledge and most of us are tired of discussing it.

Every object is already traveling faster than the speed of light, only not relative to each other.

Hi Jaden - I know you don't know me, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say, I really didn't get that impression (what I bolded up above). I was offended, on behalf of the female race, regarding some of the comments she has made. For someone who's "just starting", how can she make the assumption that most women can't play? I don't get it, but maybe I'm missing something.

I am all about people trying to promote themselves, but be classy about it. That's all I'm saying. I am not trying to be rude or anything - promise! :wink:

Oh is this about Mary Avina? she's just gotten a lot of attention because she's a cute girl who likes to play pool. anyone woman that looks cute and posts a few videos on youtube would get the same attention. no reason to get banned over something like this

you mean mary can't run out? that's kind of odd for her to be saying most people can't play then. i don't know if she gambles now but if she starts gambling she'll find out who can play and who can't. i've seen some pretty strong players in so cal
