I realize there was a problem here, but it appears to have been settled.

It seems like I read the SAME members' names in threads fanning the fires.

Everybody is aware now of what took place ad nauseum. To cut-and-paste threads and continue an aggressive back-and-forth colloquy doesn't do anything productive. It's time to let these two gentlemen take it from here.

I think most of the people that are posting in this thread are more surprised by the complete lack of remorse, and not necessarily intent on just fanning the flames as it were

Not really taking sides on all of this. But I will say one thing. Glen REALLy knows what he is doing around a pool table.

I was a mechanic for quite a few years in Alaska. Did all kinds of wierd installations and repairs in all kinds of wierd places (oil platforms, pump stations, high security Norad military sites, etc.)

I was pretty good BUT no-one does what Glen can do. He has BAD time keeping skills and you can NEVER plan anything around his schedule. But his work is the best.

I wish he would learn how to care of business a little bit better. But that is who Glen is - and I do not think he will change any time soon.

Exactly. The only reason I quoted RKC from old threads was because of how indignent he was acting about everything. He was the pot calling the kettle black and was quite self righteous about it.

I understand what you mean for sure. I just hate to see these public roastings because there are some members who seem to take glee in fanning the flames, even after the dust settles. :)

If anyone really thinks RKC's business will suffer because of this, you might be correct.

Instead of missing 1200 appointments next year, he may only miss 1000. And, he will still keep getting new clients as well as keeping the repeat customers.

It has been my experience that no matter what the character does, the skill does not change. Customers will pay and gladly, to get that skill.

So, RKC is a lousy 'time keeper' and ever worse 'accountant' and his appointment scheduling is a cryptic form of the Mayan calendar.

But he is one Helluva Table Mechanic.

Glen - Now that your Rep is completely ruined and all these people don't want to work with you, can I get you to do my table any sooner?

Side Note: I played on the table we are all talking about in Milwaukee this past summer. Played just awesome!!

man you beat me to it. i figured since the previous posters has showed how no one should do business with glen b/c he is untrustworthy etc... that now he'd have time to work on my table.

I read the whole thread and I'm still a little confused about who actually delivered the table to the final customer. And why the money was paid to Glen if he wasn't their during the delivery? But it does appear as if Glen does in fact have the OP's money from the sale of the table, whether it be $3,000 or $3,100. I prefer not to speculate on why he never sent the money to the OP.

I think highly of Glen and his skills, but it dismays me to read all his posts and see him self destructing before our eyes. A simple apology and an assurance that a check was going out immediately might have calmed things down right away, and left his reputation intact. I seriously doubt any of this will cost him any lost business, because he's so far behind anyway. It may well affect Glen in other ways though in the future if he doesn't handle this in a proper fashion, and pronto.

JAM, this is exactly what lights my fire, because I already stated there was wrongs on both sides, mine and DR's...BUT that I would take care of it, and told DR that BEFORE he posted here, never-the-less there are those here that like to flame shit....maybe just because it's me they're trying to flame....I don't know. But when someone starts telling me that maybe they SHOULDN"T hire me to work on their pool table because of something that has NOTHING to do with my skills as a mechanic...then that just down right pisses me off...to the point that they just burned the bridge with me....as they feel like they're taking money out of my pocket when they do that....and don't even know that I work on pool tables because I like the customer....and the customer needs my skills....it's NOT about the money....it's about the person I'm talking to....so if someone just treats me like a mechanic out of some listing like they're shopping around and looking for the best deal....I'm NOT the one to call:wink:

I'm not going into all the details for the AZB crowd here because it's really none of their business anyway....but as I've already said, the situation is being taken care of....already!

Two wrongs don't make a right, but I don't owe anyone here an apology or explanation, and for those that want to hear it...they can kiss my ass!

Glen

This is the kinda bs that people have to deal with. I personally dont know glen but are hundreds of threads about how this guy is the god of pool table mechanics! Then come along 1 about how he is a peice of crap and everyone jumps on the bandwagon! GROW THE F*CK UP! His reputation on here is phenomenal until now. If he is the best then he's the best. I only want the best for anything I have so if I wanted something done I'd call him. People sometime fall into shit, but only glen and dr knows what really happened. They could bash each other all day but in the end GLEN is still the BEST!

I went to Band Camp "once"....well, 4x actually

Here is my recent experience with Glen:

Yesterday afternoon I sent him a PM asking for his email, I have a table that need some unique work and knew he had a great reputation on here. A few hours later he responded with his email. I sent him a long message detailing what I wanted to do with the table I have, and tried my best to explain everything with my very limited knowledge and vocabulary pertaining to pool table parts.

He responded to my email quickly with a question, and before I could even answer he called my cell phone. This was at 10:30pm California time last night. He was very professional, spent a good 10 to 15 minutes on the phone talking about the table with me, and recommended a local mechanic as he is not going to be spending enough time on Nor Cal any time soon to do the job.

A few hours later I read this thread.

Thank you Glen for getting me going in the right direction, spending the time talking to me about a job you had no intention of getting or benefiting from, and being an all around nice and professional person! I wish you luck in the future, and would be more than happy to help you wade through the fog if you do stop through my area.

I didn't have the time or patience to read more than page 1 of this thread, but this is my one and only RKC experience, thought I would share it here since I was going to post a thank you message at some point anyways.

Correction Brian, you bought the table for $3000, it was sold for $3000, and you're getting paid $3000....there is no double delivery on this table.

Glen

Now I'm interested.

A 9 ft Diamond sells for $2500-3000 (seems debate about the price) I thought even used they were much higher.

Funny how...

Funny how idiots who never dealt with RKC jump in with their garbage. Funny how those who have dealt with him have nothing but the best to say about him. My experience? He does more than what you negotiated for because he likes to see perfect tables. That's just the way he is. And bends over backwards to do things for people. And those who say "I was thinking..." most likely never had a chance of having him do any work for them anyway. He turns down way more than he does,
