Weather you use an Mp3 or just the juke box what is the music that gets you in your rhythm? For me I prefer some good guitar music, maybe Stevie Ray Vaughn. Or just somethin' rockin', like the first Green Day cd from back in the day. So what does it for you?

When I'm practicing I don't usually listen to music... but when I do, I'd rather it be something not very "up-tempo".
Chopin's nocturnes & a little Bach will usually do without disrupting my concentration.

this has been asked a bunch of times - for me mostly clutch. but i mix in a bunch of stuff, jazz, modern country, lots of rock and hard edge stuff mostly though it's what gets me going.

I listen to 3 "songs". The theme from "Crimson Tide", "No Sacrifice, No Victory" from the 1st Transformers soundtrack, & "The Launch" by Trevor Rabin from "Armageddon".

I like to listen to "my music" because it relaxes me.
Link provided below in my sig.

If I'm not listening to my stuff I like blues like B. B. King and Clapton or Jazz/Sinatra.

Very few places where I can hear that unless i'm wearing my headphones.

Blues, nothing but Blues. In fact, I convinced my home ph to play blues on their satelite radio sound system on Sat and Sun 11-4 just for me! No complaints so far!
:p

Being a musician (I play six-string bass guitar), I have varied tastes in music. Anything from the band known as "Tool" (especially songs like "Vicarious" and "Sober"), the solo piece "Cliffs of Dover" from guitarist Eric Johnson, anything from guitarists Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, anything from progressive jazz great Jean-Luc Ponty (especially the "Cosmic Messenger" album/CD -- absolutely jammin' bass lines), etc.

Anything that moves and has a great rhythm. However, music that will stop me in my tracks, and cause me to want to pick up a cue ball and hurl it at the source, are rap and "achy breaky" or "whiny" styles of country.

But alas, preferences, preferences -- like sphincters, we all have 'em!

I'd have to concur.....Tool does it for me. Just gets me goin. For some reason I especially like to listen to house or techno. Juno Reactor really gets me pumped and puts me in stroke!

The click of the balls making contact and dropping into a pocket, and the sound of chalk brushing confidently against a leather tip, is the beautiful music of a real pool hall....

Oldies from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Not too loud.
Number 1 poolhall tune? 'Picture' by Kid Rock and Cheryl Crow. One more Quervo, please.

I practice in a bowling alley,so I get a little bit of music right before the leagues start,I usually request 80's stations, but for the most part I like any and every thing, just not too much of it.

If I am practicing, depending on my mood I listen to classical and/or metal. I know...its one extreme to another, but sometimes I just love me some Mozart or Chopin, other days I like it heavy maybe something like Chimaira, JFAC or Lamb of God.
