What is Borana Andoni's speed?

WebSeries

These girls do not go and beg people for attention. Sponsors are interested in them because of what they represent. It is not like they are getting paid millions, so I don't understand what the issue is.

Maybe you guys should go check out their web series at Nycgrind.com and actually see how creative they are and what they are doing with pool. It is not their fault they are marketable.

The team you are refering to Kiss of Death (KOD) has done more to promote the sport of Billairds in the past year than anyone else...period!

So they have done more for the game by winning nationals than the guy who puts on the very tournament that gave them their claim to fame ?

They are all nice girls and do a great job promoting themselves. But lets keep this based in reality.

Ok, new leaf or not, i have to admit that this is pretty funny. :D

Stu...Tap, tap, tap! That says it all, imo. We need all the positive role models (male AND female) we can provide, to bring up the image of our sport!

Wow! You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm going to have to disagree here.

Whatever you think of their accomplishment, it's what these ladies have done subsequently that make their victory so significant. In my view, these undeniably attractive ladies have brought positive attention to our sport, not only through their play, but by the way they present themselves. They are well-dressed and courteous and compete with a high level of sortsmanship, and, at least in my view, they are positive role models for other women players in the New York area and beyond.
I wish Borana and all her teammates continued success.

Honestly, and I might be the only one, I'm sick of hearing about her and her league team. It seems that everywhere I look people are trying to make a big deal out of a team that has done nothing more than win the Woman's Open Team division at BCA Nationals last year. I'm not saying that's not a nice accomplishment or anything, but it's not as big a deal as some people seem to think it is. Hell, I was checking out some stuff on NYCGrind.com and I saw that they are now making a web series out of these girls. I watched a video to see what it was all about and there was a part showing one of the girls signing autographs like she was a big pro or some shit.

Bah, whatever, I guess if people want to give these girls their 15 minutes then they should take full advantage of it I suppose.

derekdisco can give some more information about Borana though as he has a little crush on her. I think he's looking to match up with her in Vegas next month. I heard he wants the 7.

I know Borana Andoni.

She has the coolest name.Borana means white snow

She is a very nice women
She is beautiful.
She has a very pleasant demeanor and presents herself in a very dignified manner.
She dresses fashionable.
Coming back to the issue of pool game-we should not forget that she is the member of the kiss of Death that won the BCA Nationals.
She can kick some arse of many posters here.Enough said.

AHHHHH and the problem with pool and pool players continues LOL!!!

KOD, Borana, Gail, John Doe.....................who cares?!?! As long as they are GOOD ambassadors of our beloved cue sport PERIOD!!!!!!

Winning a TEAM national event............not very easy. So KUDOS to them!!!! Also good for them, that have used it as a spring board for themselves to do bigger and better things. AND even bigger KUDOS for them, for staying together and competing this year at the MASTERS level!!!!!

I wish as players we could start supporting those who have found a way to be successful REGARDLESS of what level they are at. Once we figure that out........the cue sports may start getting the recognition it so truly deserves.

the package

You nailed it!

A friend of mine is a hell of a country music writer and singer. He is also retirement age, overweight, and doesn't look like God's gift to women or perhaps guys that go that way these days. He doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting a record deal because he isn't marketable. That isn't his fault, it isn't the record label's fault either, it is just what is. The record labels are looking for a safe package to market and he isn't it.

Attractive young ladies that know how to conduct themselves and play pool pretty well are a package that the sponsors find marketable. Again it would be foolish to blame the young ladies or the sponsors. If we are honest most of us can look in the mirror when we are hunting someone to blame if we object to what "total package" the sponsors find safest to use to market their products.

I wish everyone struggling to make it in pool good luck and I'm certainly not going to hold it against them if they are young, female, and attractive. If I saw someone that was obviously disinterested in pool trying to just use it as a vehicle I would find that very annoying but come on, how brain dead would anyone have to be to try to use pool in the USA as a route to overnight fame???

brian...I have to disagree. An ambassador for anything is someone who presents a positive image for whatever they are an ambassador for. Being a champion is not a necessary prerequisite (although these ladies DO qualify as "champions", since they won a national event). Like it or not, sex sells, and these women are attractive, honest, and love pool. What's not to like?

People used to cut Jeanette down years ago, because she (allegedly) shamelessly promoted herself (and her image) using what 'assets' she has. She wasn't even in the top 10 ranked WPBA players, but got more 'recognition' than most of the other women put together. Now she has worked hard on her game (with some good instruction too), and is a known competitor, who is not afraid to get down for the cash either! She also makes more $$$ than all the rest of the WPBA put together...but I don't begrudge her for it...I applaud her! She deserves everything she gets...and is, imo, also a great ambassador for the sport!

shouldnt a good ambassador for the sport be so b/c of the high level they play at and not just b/c of the way they look?

suprnva...The "7"? Heck, since Borana is such a banger (according to some posters), Chris should give her the Orange Crush & and the snap. That would probably be a fair game.

Scott Lee

I don't think anyone here has said she's a banger. Hell, I don't think anyone has talked down her game at all. All that is being said is that her and her team seem to be getting quite a bit of attention for not really doing anything big as of yet. Like I said before, winning the in Vegas last year was a nice accomplishment and it isn't easy, but it's not like they won the US Open or anything. I can't wait to see if the team that wins this years open division gets the same amount of attention. I'd be willing to bet that they don't.

yes scott the 5 7 and the break is a fair game.
i need some help with my game what do you charge per hour?

Scott, lower your rate a little for Chris. You'll end up making double what you normally would anyways because of his crazy long pre-shot routine! :D

Can I have the 5, 7 and the break, Chris? If so, can we bet high? Like, tree fiddy a set? And by tree fiddy I'm talking $3.50.

Well that's good. I had heard Mark Griffin was going to add an extra day to the US Open 10-ball because of you're slowness, but now I guess he won't have to. lol.

You should start a thread trying to line up some action on the bar box in Vegas. Unless of course you're gonna go into "Tournament Fag" mode and focus on the 10-ball event and not gamble until after it's over and you go play Appleton.

Who you wanna play? John Schmidt, 10-ball, bar box? That sounds like a good game. Work on that! I should start a thread. I wonder if he'll get mad at me. I don't think he likes me. I'm kinda bored.

Is Kirkwood coming to Vegas? He should get in action if he is. When I was out there in 2007 he got in a game with, I believe, Ernesto but Jason was way too drunk to actually play and ended up paying off at 4 (they were playing 8 ahead) and going and passing out. I ran into him the next morning and he said it was one of the dumbest games he ever got in. It was an entertaining conversation.
