All around best american player??

I think big table with the games I listed is pretty neutral. Your guy would be in the top 3 in this discussion, I know how much you want him to be #1. And sure we can toss in a bunch of bartable games, then ill come back with lets throw in 3 cushion billiards and snooker, then youll come back with Danny needs to work 60 hours a week, but im trying to not go down that path!

Again, I didn't toss the bar table suggestion out to try and make Larry the favorite. I just threw it out there to see what people had to say.

None of this matters though, Cliff Joyner is the favorite.

yes terry it is but see thats my line he took it from me.
always use my lines on me damn it.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any two guys who have funnier lines or better good natured woofing at each other than you two! Oh how I'd love to have you both seated at a table and have to answer pool questions while being live-streamed! You guys would be making some $, I know that! :D

Bartram I have an update from Daz: He would like to inform you that your 10 ball match has been changed to an all around competition of straight pool played with 21 balls on the table, bank pool on a snooker table and race to 7 Golden Tee European Rules (No hands. Must use feet or head only to roll the track ball)

Winner plays Larry Nevel in an all around of jacks (with the big bouncy ball), high jumping, and Bonus Ball.

Don't say i'll tell'em cause I just did.

What's Larry giving up playing jacks????

He has to use a bowling ball for his bouncy ball, and instead of picking up jacks he has to pick up wasp stingers.

LOL I was hoping it would be he has to go for no less than a 5 on each turn and his score gets divided by 2 and rounded down at the end.

I like your spot much better.

For the best All Around player, we used to always consider Straight Pool as one of the games. In the 60's and 70's, Ed Kelly was considered the best All Around player by his peers. After him, it was either Mizerak or Sigel, with Hopkins, Rempe and Varner close behind.

Today, it might be John Schmidt or Danny Harriman for excellence in all three games (14.1, One Pocket and 9-Ball). Danny also excels in Bank Pool, so on that basis he may be #1. I'd like to see a true All Around World Championship playing these three games. Hasn't been one since the Stardust and Johnston City. Bank Pool has replaced Straight Pool in all similar events.

If you now make the best All Around player the one who excels at Banks, 9-Ball and One Pocket, the list could change. Shannon Daulton would have to be high on that list, if not on top. Danny Harriman might be the second choice now, with Sylver Ochoa moving up the list fast.

You took the words out out of my mouth, 14.1 is a more legitimate test of ability than banks. The reason they replaced it at DCC is because of the time it would take for several hundred people to play a 14.1 tournament.

For a combination of 14.1 and 9 ball I'd go with Archer but I don't know if he plays much one pocket.

Schmidt probably has the best all around credentials. U S Open 9 ball champion, DCC one pocket champion, world class 14.1 player.

they play banks at dcc cause its a better game and more players play it.

justin i do think 14.1 is my best game but the people betting with me kinda like the 8 playing 10 ball.
so we will keep that game thank you.

Will there be tigers? Playing pool with tigers is the ultimate test of a players skill and focus. Playing pool with jacks and bouncy balls is boring, I don't know 5 people that do it....

The greats all played with tigers running around the pool hall. It's a fact...
