Of the 2010 DogsPlayingPool Invitational. And yes, folks, believe it or not, this was NOT a Short Rack Banks event but rather a 9 Ball tourney.

The old road dog proved a worthy champion, grinding through the west side of the chart after a first round loss to take down the event over a strong field, plus me. He used to perfection a strategy of losing every lag and getting out of position often to turn even the easiest pattern into a tough run-out in order to take the first place trophy and cash. Every part of his game appeared to be in top order including a beautifully executed illegal jump shot that would have won him that rack had he not later dogged the 9, leaving it hanging in the corner. Congratulations Jay, on a hard fought win. You are a worthy champion! There are not many players that can make the game of 9 Ball look so difficult! :p:D

2nd: Aunty Dan
3rd: sponge bob
4th: SDBilliards
5th-8th: poolhustler, DogsPlayingPool, i4pool, atthecat.

Old School hustle??

Congratulations Jay:

Was it a skillful lay down of the two related gambits?

Play so bad-that it affects your opponent's play(invites aggressive play)/ and the hit it so bad that it was good(disguising the two-way shot) ploy.

Or more likely-Jay just hit em good-at the right times.

Sounds like a good time had by all. That's the important thing.

Take care

I got lucky!

Really, all the guys played good and I could have lost any match. Even in an eight man event, I had to win five in a row on the loser's side. I was worn out at the end. It was a helluva lot of fun and I can't wait for the next one. Mitchell was a great host! Thanks Mitch.

Congrats Jay!!

I'm willing to host the next one at my house in a couple weeks depending on everyones schedule.

Thanks again for your hospitality Mitchell.

Except for the drive, it was alot of fun..

Mitchell- Thank you very much for hosting. I had a great time.
Congrats again to Jay!

Hey! You look like you're 6'2" in this pic. :D

Again, your table is beautiful! Nice work SD and great job taking care of it Mitchell!

Monte, Russ, Asgar, Dan, Jay, Mitchell, Sundown-- It was an absolute pleasure. Until next time... (btw, gonna need some weight next round). :)

Let's see, now. Couldn't make a thing - until he had to, and then he won.
Mitch, it sounds to me like the old guy hustled you.
Still got those moves, eh, Jay?

Well.....he was "on the road" wasn't he :D

A good time & a little cash - can't beat that huh Jay - congrats ::yeah::dance:

Thanks guys. It was a lot of fun, a good excuse to get together and shoot some. We were all having such a good time hanging out, the poker game never even got going, lol. I definitely want to do it again. I've already got some new ideas for the next one I host.

The competition was great though as I said it was not like a real professional tournament because everyone got paid immediately at this one. :D I kind of showed my prowess as a TD at the draw, lol. Don't think Mark Griffin will be letting me run the sheet at the Swanee any time soon. :embarrassed2:

Here's another pic, this one of Sundown Donny at work on - not under - the table:
